What TV shows are you currently watching

Finished Ted Lasso, season 3 seemed to have too much Keeley but still enjoyed it. Loved nates play with Jamie, was hilarious.

Watched the first episode of Beef last night on Netflix, odd but will see where it goes.

Just finished The Night Agent
Have to say I enjoyed it, hear there's going to be a 2nd season next year

Will be starting season 3 of The Witcher over the weekend.

Rewatching Game of Thrones Season 1-4 for what feels like the 10th time - Jesus Christ the writing and acting was just superb back then, just watching Aria Stark and Tywin Lannister verbally duke it out and its just bloody epic stuff.

  • Tywin Lannister: What do they say of Robb Stark in the north? (he asks in a light tone)

  • Arya Stark: They call him the Young Wolf. (she seems unsure and nervous)

  • Tywin Lannister: And?

  • Arya Stark: They say he rides into battle on the back of a giant direwolf. They say he can turn into a wolf himself when he wants. They say he can't be killed. (said proudly, before she realises her slip)

  • Tywin Lannister: And do you believe them?

  • Arya Stark: No, my lord...................(voice change to a hard tone) Anyone can be killed. (Intense staring at Tywin)

  • Tywin Lannister: (Intense staring back and his voice changes to a more stern note as he begins to reappraise her) Fetch that water.

Sweet baby Jesus, the "unsaid" visual acting between an aged and experienced Charles Dance and the young Maisie Williams in this single scene alone is better than literally everything in Season 5-8!

Recently finished The Morning Show, which I really liked a different watch off the back of binge watching Succession (which I thought was fantastic).

Most of the way through binging Ted Lasso - just the last four episodes - really enjoying it

Finished Blue Lights last night, decent and hope to see a 2nd season, last episode was an emotional gut punch. It's quite formulaic but not to it's detriment and i'd recommend a watch, 8/10.

Richard Dormer is absolutely fantastic in it - becoming a favourite the more I see of him.

Finished watching Westworld Season 4; it felt like they are trying to stretch another season out of it but it got cancelled. Overall it was meh but watchable.

Also finished watching Season 1 of the Silo. It was a pretty good watch, it had the same tension and confusion as The Severance (tv show). Its a slow starter but it gets better when keep at it.

Have you tried Traces yet? Based in Scotland this time.

Just finished I am Virgo which was okay. Not keen on the sex scenes though and now on Class of '07. Quite enjoying it, god knows why.

Season 1 was nearly perfect and should have been a one and done, while season 2/3 were watchable nonsense, I didn't have the energy to go onto S4.

Not heard of that, will seek it out, thanks.

Hinterland which is set in Wales.

Really dark crime drama and I think excellent.

It's the 2nd time I've watched the whole series but I did miss quite a bit the first time.

So it's one of those that you need to "properly watch" if you know what I mean.
It is good. For extra "properly watch" you can find it in Welsh with English subtitles.

Apparently they filmed each scene in English and then again in Welsh (English first so that the non-Welsh crew knew what was going on when they switched to Welsh!).

Have you seen Hidden?

Oh that's so interesting and I hadn't realised that at all!

I think on the BBC iPlayer it's just mainly in English with the occasional bits in Welsh.

Yes I've seen Hidden!

I hope they do another season for both Hinterland and Hidden.

About halfway through first season of White Lotus from HBO - quite a wickedly dark comedy, not a great deal going on in all honesty but all play their parts so well i'm really drawn in.

Actually discovered it on a recent flight as it was a TV choice, part way into the first episode and suddenly there is a full screen knob and balls in all their glory, hence me panicking and trying to hit stop on a touch screen that isn't the most responsive, instead it pauses with said balls on screen for an excruciating 5 seconds before it eventually vanishes.

Tbf, we've talked about it and praised it in this thread I believe.
I don't recall but we do discuss a LOT of tv here so I could easily have read and forgot :D

One thing I do like is watching obscenely rich entitled people come apart at the seams and maybe that's the draw for me.

Great show loved both series. All I can say about series two is stick with it until the end. It really is worth it.

And pay attention to the rich crazy american women with the ashes in the first series.

The Devil Next Door (Netflix).

'In 1986, an unassuming Cleveland grandfather and autoworker is accused of being Ivan the Terrible,
a brutal Nazi death camp guard'.

Very interesting and, understandably, highly emotional.
