What TV shows are you currently watching

Finally got back to finishing off season 8 of TWD after binging the first 7.5 over a few weeks and...yeesh that was bad. It started going downhill around season 6 but season 7 and 8 have been a real slog with some god awful writing and legitimately infuriating decision making/**** ups by the characters. They somehow managed to make a 2.5 season long story that's felt dragged out for an eternity feel rushed with the finale of season 8.

Just binged the three seasons of Mayor of Kingstown.
I thought it was great, season 1 being my favourite, but the rest is still good.

The Iris storyline was a tough watch for me in S1. I didn't much care about her in later seasons, stupid decisions.

First two episodes of season 9 were way better, it's nice to see characters acting like real people again and not just grunting or turning every conversation into them monologuing. Still some brain-dead writing that only exists to create conflict but I'm actually interested in seeing how the story unfolds again instead of just wanting it to be over.

Yeap, good series, finished the last 2 episodes last night. Nice the way they finished each episodes with a new reveal or a shocker, definitely keeping the interest for the next episode.

Did not know that Peter Sarsgaard (tommy Molto) is married to Maggie Gyllenhaal (jake's sister)

Currently watching Dexter - New Blood.

About half way through the season so far, to be honest rather underwhelming!

Not even close to been as good as the first Dexter series imo.
 
Funnily enough, just finished S3 of The Bear. Not great IMO. As I think back, I don't know I could really say what happened in S3. I might not bother with S4...
 
Any 'retro' or Ben Elton fans, I recently watched, via youtube, a 4k AI Remaster of Stark - I love the book and whilst the TV show isn't as good, it's not terrible (IMHO) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108215/

Now making my way through the original Survivors (1975). I enjoyed the 2008 reboot (which ended on a cliff-hanger!) so interested to see how this is.

Oh wow, I stopped watching Orphan Black, unsure when and why - I was enjoying it but I think it all became a bit too far fetched - not sure where I got (I think season 2, but I note lower scores early season 3, so maybe it was then?), other than that the reviews are quite good so I should give it another go.
 
Yeah i don't remember finishing it, but my wife assures me that we did!

Echoes is completely separate, so other than a similar premise, there's no requirement to have watched the original. It's been decent enough so far, nothing too stupid from any characters which is my usual complaint with shows like this!
 
so i watched 2 Episodes of the Bear Last night with the Wife who then hated it. so i am asking for recommendations now as after i catch up with HOTD i wont have anything to watch as a couple

Have you watched The Crown, I (surprisingly) quite enjoyed it (after the wife kept going on about us giving it a try), though I always struggled with each cast change/time jump.

not given it ago tbh but mainly because the wife would hate it , we kept hearing about it from my 85 year old dad and he never stopped going on about it so i think it put her off lol
