What TV shows are you currently watching

Just finished s1 of The Tick the live action version with Peter Serafinowicz. A lot darker in tone than the animated series. I've not seen the other live action series from 2002. Took me a while to get in to. But enjoyed it in the end.
 
Finally got around to watching Utopia after it completely passed me by when it was on Channel 4 a few years back. Possibly my new favourite show.

I think you're best just watching it without knowing anything about the premise. Safe to watch the trailer as it doesn’t give anything away.

Gutted there’s no season 3 but you still get a conclusive ending even though it was cancelled. Amazon apparently doing a reboot of it set in the states…

Agreed, at first I thought it was going to be a poor woman's version of Peep Show...but it's actually quite different, quite tragic and cutting beyond the humour side.

Very good imo, nearly finished the second series, looking forward to more.

IMO it's one of the best programs the C4 has ever shown, definitely the best of that genre anyway. Is a shame that S3 will likely never see the light of day, but as you say it is wrapped up sufficiently!
 
Approaching the end of S3 of Mad Men, will probably switch to something else before starting S4, after doing these first 3 over the last couple of weeks. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Haven't made my mind up yet, but feel likely to do one of these:
Westworld
Killing Eve
Good Omens
Happy (S2)
Handmaid's Tale
 
Watched all of Black Summer, really enjoyed it for a zombie yarn, loved the way some of thew episodes had same story from different peoples points of view.
Ending was a bit of a let down though. 8/10
 
Designated Survivor series 3 has just come out on NF. It's gone all socially aware and has a load of swearing in it now........and it's still absolute tosh. Can't stop watching it though, even though it's always been fairly terrible.
 
No idea how you’ve made it that far when there is so much good content out there! I got as far as the season 1 break and thought wtf Jack Bauer, how could you, and promptly gave up.
 
I don't know when the break was as I came to DS late, but there was a clear improvement around S01E12. Up to that point I wasn't impressed, then it really picked up.
 
Just started American Gods series 2, it feels like more style over substance. I really liked the first series but not sure about this. Will try another episode though.
 
Just watched the first episode of 'Swamp Thing' and it seems good so far. But it has apparently been canselled already :(. Its pointless getting into TV shows these days.

I think many here would disagree with that rather huge sweeping statement.

If the fear of cancellation is that big for you, there's loads of stuff over the past 10 to 15 years that is great and made it's way to the end. Just watch those?

Hence why I said "these days"... Almost every TV show seems to end abruptly e.g GOT, or get canned before it's finished. Maybe "pointless" was the wrong word to use, but this show specifically feels a little pointless to get into with news of it's cancellation coming just after the pilot has aired. I'm guessing it has been paced with multiple seasons in mind, so is either going to end open ended, or have a rushed ending.

I have watched pretty much every older show that is worth watching anyway, so couldn't go back and watch those even if I wanted to.

I forgot about this. It does wind me up but for some reason I enjoy watching it.
 
I liked Designated Survivor S01 and S02. But...
S03 has done the Star Trek Discovery thing of forcing gay scenes into the show which add nothing to the story.
It's gross, and I'm done with this show.
 
“Dark” on Netflix was way better than I expected... season 2 being released on June 21st. Wouldn’t even watch the trailer for this one though as I think it gives too much away. Just go in blind and you’ll enjoy the mystery more.

It can be hard work keeping track of all the characters due to the nature of the story, but it’s definitely worth the effort. There’s a picture to help in the spoiler tag if you need it (it’s from the r/dark subreddit which is pretty active). I’d only reference it after watching the first episode.
