Apparantly my mum and grandad took me to see Arsenal when I was 3, but the first I remember was and England game at Wembley with my school in 1972/3, I can't remember the opponents though.
It was either Plymouth vs Millwall or Plymouth vs Hartlepool when I was 13 or 14. All I remember about the Millwall game is fighting and bricks flying around everywhere and all I remember about the Hartlepool game are the 7 goals they scored past Argyle.
Chelsea - Liverpool; Not sure the year exactly but early 90's (90-92) finished 0-0.
First game at Anfield was Liverpool - Norwhich; the last game of the old Kop and we lost 0-1
Sunderland vs Tranmere at Roker Park
cant remember what year now. ive got a program somewhere tho. think it finished 2-2. not sure tho. thats bad im gonna have to look it up now
England Vs Brazil in the umbro cup, 1995, when graeme le saux scored that scorching left foot volley, then England went on to lose 3-1! great game though, and we were right next to the Brazil fans and had a great laugh talking and cheering when we were 1-0 up
Scunthorpe United (I don't remember who they played) at the old Showground just before they moved to Glanford Park. I would have been about six back then, I think I was more interested in the burgers than the football, though.
My first game was in the 1990/91 season. Derby had already been relegated from the old first division and my dad took me to one of the last games against Southampton. The rams won 6-2 in an excellent game and afterwards I got my programme signed by a young Alan Shearer and Matt Le Tissier who could not wait to get on the visitors bus.
Canne remember how old I was (>10), but it was Reading vrs Man U in the F.A or league cup. Had to sit on my dad's shoulders for half the match and we lost 3-0.
Missed Cantona's final goal aswell, at least I saw him play when he was at his peak. Can't remember anything though...
I was about 12 or 13 (so 16 years ago now ) and watched Aberdeen vs Partick Thistle at Firhill with my uncle and (now deceased) cousin. Was stands at the time behind the goal and really entertaining match, with Billy Dodds getting loads of abuse from home fans, then getting sent off for a stamp on a Thistle player. Was the highlight of the match as it ended 0 - 0 I think, although it was quite a few years ago now so I don't remember much about it.
Then again it was that long ago it probably wasn't Billy Dodds.
My first match was when I lived in West Berlin during the late 80's (my dad was in the RAF and was posted there). Anyway it was just before the '88 euro championships and there was a four-nations tournament at the olympic stadium and he took me to watch the Soviet Union v Argentina. I was only 10 or 11 so I can barely remember it, but the only reason we went is because my Dad wanted to see Maradona play. I think he scored as well, but they still lost . My strongest memory of that match is just how short Maradona is lol.
