What was your first PC spec?

Mine was a Dixon's Packard Bell Celeron 433Mhz that I bought with my first student loan money. I think it was £699 with CRT monitor keyboard etc. It came with a free Copy of Half Life. I soon borrowed Quake 3 Arena from a fellow student and played it into the wee hours at my halls of residence.

That’ll be the blisteringly fast 8+mhz Atari st! Must dig that out of my parents attic looking at what they’re selling g for on eBay

My first computer was an Acorn Electron, Plus 2 rom expansion thingy, with tape drive and printer - well I say mine, it was my dad's but I played a lot of Chuckie Egg and MoonLander on it:

First x86 was an ICL 8086, 4mhz I think, 640k ram, 3.5" floppy drive, 10mb HDD and a creative labs gamecard.

It was one my dad bought when I was young but was so long ago I don't remember/know the the specs beyond it being on Windows 95

I bought my first PC in about 1994, second hand from a local PC bod, sure it was a 486 SX 25 with 4mb of RAM and an 80mb hard drive!

Once I taught myself how to take it to bits and put it back together again, I never stopped upgrading!

Just reading the above, I had an Acorn Election too, as the school used the BBC Model B, but that was too expensive for home.

I got my first PC back in 1997. My flatmate at the time was heavily into PCs so helped me build my own. It was a AMD K6 200Mhz from what I remember. I ended up buying a Voodoo graphics card a few months later.

Escom P75i Multimedia bought from a local high street Escom store in 1995.

Intel Pentium 75mhz
8mb EDO Ram
1mb Cirrus Logic Graphics
Aztech SB Pro Compatible Sound card, even remember the IRQs 220, i5, d3
Windows 95 with Word 95.

Later on upgraded the ram to 24mb which was a game changer. Graphics card died and replaced with a ATi Rage II PCI and managed to upgrade to a Pentium 133mhz later in it's life. Great PC. Basically learn 90% of the core OS, Batch files and minor programming on it. A friends neighbour used to give me PC Format magazines with Cover discs once he was done with them each month. Learnt so much on that PC.

Pentium II 233 MHz MMX
S3 Graphics Card
3DFX Voodoo2 3D Accelerator
Creative Soundblaster
Windows 95 Plus!

I don't remember the amount of memory or HDD, but I do remember buying the Voodoo2 from my dad after he upgraded to a Voodoo3.

Pentium 200
windows 95.
Matrox Millenium gfx
Voodoo 2-3(?) gfx
I can't actually remember most of the specs, it's too far back!
Definately Creative Soundblaster, either 16 or 32.
