What watch do you wear?

Seeing a lot of buzz about wooden watches at the moment... what is everyone's thoughts on them? https://zeitstamm.com/

I don't think they look "bad", but nowhere near as elegant as a metal watch and I would question the durability against hard knocks over time.

Still in the honey moon phase with the Speedmaster, grinning like the Cheshire cat. Not worn anything else since it arrived.

Been 2 weeks now, so about time to carefully crack off the bracelet and start exploring different straps.

Criminal, but I haven't had it on a nato yet. As I had my sights on something else. I've always loved the look of a Speedmaster on a brown leather strap, today I received in the post a Vintage Otley from WatchGecko there is something about it that just works. For £28 I'm really impressed. Really nice stitching work, great colour, decent looking leather and decent clasp. Feels comfortable to wear, it's quite nicely padded.

Oh damn, I tried a sub on on Friday and it didn't look stupid on my wrist (41mm), I want a Seamaster but not sure I can settle for the reduced...

I'd love to give that a go. What width is the strap? Looks cracking.

Finally got the battery changed on one of my favourite watches. Picked this one up for £25 from Amazon. At that price I couldn’t resist it. Surprisingly (not!) it’s a lightweight watch and has a silicon strap with gold plastic bits on it but I think it looks great.

Very good if you want to know when it's 9 or what day it is out of a choice of three.

I'd say it was dates in different time zones but I'm not sure we leap forward 2 days anywhere. Perhaps future proofing like the Mars watch? :p

See if you can try on a regular Seamaster, don't go for reduced until you try on the regular. What size is your wrist?

It's 20mm. Really impressed tbh for the price.

Can't help but think that Speedy would look truly amazing on a darker vintage leather! Like this: https://www.watchgecko.com/vintage-highley-genuine-leather-short-quick-release-watch-strap

Granted bit pricier but the darker colour would perfectly contrast with the dark dial and vintage aesthetic! The one you have is nice too of course but more modern vintage way I'd say.

Strap options rotation rabbit hole? :D

3 weeks in for the Stowa now and it seems their claim on the finishing not oxidising beyond their hand-treatment seems to be holding true even after a bunch of times washing with soap etc, rather impressed. As mentioned before it goes a lighter tone of bronze and appears cleaned up but within a day or two it returns to the original treated finish with subtle texturing within that's smooth to the touch. If I look closer I can however see some additional texturing coming through but again it's subtle which is pretty cool.

Also didn't realise but it looks like (under a loupe) some of the movement surfaces like the main plate are hand finished as the strokes are too uneven to be done on a machine line, pretty cool:

This has become an unexpected grail watch for me now exceeding expectations. The movement finishing I'd say is on par with that of my old NOMOS Ahoi Atlantik (NOMOS edges slightly because of more visible perlage and fully blued screws) but the case finishing, handset and dial are a cut above the NOMOS whilst costing over half the price of the NOMOS.

I'm not sure, my BB58 is a couple of pages back which is 38, but my 41mm DJ is okay but max I could carry.
