What watch do you wear?

Someone on reddit got one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/nl9k1s/new_watch_tudor_black_bay_ceramic/

Looking at real world pics it does seem Tudor missed a beat with the lume colours. Why didn't they opt for a more suiting day lume colour considering they changed the movement paint job to match? The markers just stand out too much I think.
Yeah seems like they were going down the 'blacked out' route then decided to say screw it on the dial markers and hands... really does seem a weird choice when you can get 'blacked out' lume (I know at least one hamilton watch with it).

My parents bought me a Rotary watch for my 40th, it was unexpected and I was really surprised because they dont have a lot of money. I'll be honest I didnt like it, It would have just sat in a cupboard and never got used because it was the shiniest of shiny silver. It was also too big so they gave me the receipt and I went to take it back and have the links removed but whilst I was there I was looking at the watches and saw a Citizen Eco Drive in Titanium which just stood out at me and I had to have it.

My parents also gave me a bit of money and that bit of money plus the Rotary watch = Citizen watch so I had to do it and exchanged them.

You might think its not the watch my parents chosen for my 40th but I explained to them and they were happy that I was happy. I am made up with the watch I love it, I am not a watch guy, I pop in this thread every once in a while and I dont recognise half of the brands but I do like to wear one when going to the pub or special occasions etc so although neither watch is massively expensive its the most expensive watch I've ever had.

Short story for you there this morning!

I ordered a Bell and Ross "homage" from Wish a month or so ago... It's now ready for pickup... I have always been curious of how well these "fakes" stand up, considering the VERY low price. I think its cost me £20 with delivery to a local shop.
I may take it to bits and try to see what its actually made of :D I am just curious how they can manage to even buy the materials needed to actually make a product at that price.
If anyone is interested, I will report back later with some pics when I pick it up!

You'll find inside one coiled up spring which drives the hands. Once it's unwound the watch will be broken :p

I can't understand the appeal of a watch that has everything dull and blacked out, but that is definitely how you do a "stealth" watch face.
I was about to post that I do like a black watch but then I opened the link.

I think I should like it, everything on it looks good as individual parts but its just too much, too much stealth which kind of makes it looks a bit like a toy watch you would buy to go with your action man collection.

I like the look of a blacked out watch but can't ever see me buying one because it kind of defeats the point of a watch if you can't easily read it imo (excluding the super complicated watches which are more about 'engineering' than reading time)....

Should be chunky enough to survive working on the motorbikes, and no mechanical movement to worry about!!

I have my eyes on a real one soon, but figured this would let me get a look at the overall dimensions/feel. As they are pretty big watches :)

Went back home this weekend and I ended up taking my mum to get her hair done in Liverpool city centre. Doing a loop around Liverpool One and walked past GS and thought "Hell, I'm still interested in the GMT" lets have a chat with the sales persons and see what they say.

After stating I was interested in the Pepsi GMT the person was like "LOL we don't hold stock it" and I was like "yeh i know, super sought after and limited".
Once they gathered that I knew a little bit about the watched I wanted, and how AD system picks who they allocate these to, and the likely timeframe of 1-2 years; then they actually seemed to warm up and asked if I would like to "Register my interest".

Even when they were taking my details they still seemed to be gauging/testing me
AD "Which watch are you interested in?"
Me "The GMT Master II Pepsi"
AD "And...?"
Me "And...? Oh Errrrr Jubilee"
AD "Very nice"

Anyway overall they were very polite and I was quite happy with my experience so far.
Following that I received what appears to be a hand typed email from the AD saying it was nice meeting me and they have formally "registered by interest" and outlining procedure and timeframe for purchasing the watch.

Fingered cross. I will report back in hopefully 2 years. :p

That whole experience is the sole reason I wouldn't bother. A ludicrous way to treat a potential customer, made even worse by the fact that every idiot on Insta owns a Rolex so they're hardly protecting their "brand".

I put my name down a few months ago for a GMT Batman. My friend rolls into the AD, and requests one. Two/three weeks later he has one. (Because he has bought things from them before)

Sums it up :p

Didn't realise GS went the full Rolex too. Shame, this has made me not want to get any GS any more for this reason alone.
