Ok interesting, thanks. My Pelagos seems really hard, I have banged it many times as I mainly use it as a summer sports watch and it's still looking good!The Pelagos uses Grade 2, can't find specs for the specific model, but Grand Seiko generally use Grade 5, which is much harder.
My dealer was wearing a Pelagos and advised me not to get too upset when I get my first scratch....
I just allowed mine to oxidize and it basically self-healed.The Pelagos marks easy but can be rubbed out with an eraser. It will look different for a while until the titanium oxidises again
However I don't care about scratches in general even on my most expensive watches (at least I have never had any truly obnoxious scratches so far), it's just wear and tear and shows the watch is used and appreciated.
