What watch do you wear?

Decided to switch back to my Hamilton today

Regards cloned watches.. I received a fake Submariner as a gift last month and as I am unable to put my name down on a waiting list for RRP without buying £1000's in jewellery or other watches I'm not interested in, I'm happy to wear it. If anyone asks I tell them it's not a real one.
I've just sent it off to a friendly watchmaker for a service.

Met a young lad buying my coat yesterday who had a stunning watch on. I asked if it was an Alpinist and he said no, it's a self built explorer i clone made out of Seiko bits. Got his number and have put my order in for a Polar Seiko Explorer :D. My first frankenwatch!
So had my little fun watch arrive!

Feels really great considering it was 140 quid! I hadn't chosen the face with the explorer words on, I did just want it plain but I wasn't clear when I set my requirements! I love the Seiko branding tho

Not sure if this is a fake Rolex or a fake Seiko now! Probably won't get much wear but it has a nice story and I'm supporting a young horologist.

I've not really gelled with the Pelagos since I got it. I've not even worn it out the house.

I think I just prefer the look and weight of a steel watch.

So I think I might sell it soon. I really want one of these.......

Make sure you have the right wrist. These can look daft on slimmer builds :D imho

They are big and they wear big too. Quite top heavy.

I already own a few Planet Oceans in various colours/movements. They fit fine. I love how they look and feel on my wrist and my wrist is not particularly big.

I know a few will frown, but my Faux-lex just came back from a fresh service ;)
Posted on the 9th, back today, the 24th.

It has had 3x washes, 2x rinses, re-lubricated with swiss oils and greases and pressure testing done.

At least I can wear one of these daily and not worry about desk diving :p

If ever Rolex deem me worthy enough to own one of their watches, I'll be happy to ditch the rep.

Lubricated with Swiss oils in a service that probably cost more than the watch.
The cost to me was £162 in total including postage back.
The movement inside is similar to the genuine 3235, has an approximate 70hr power reserve and can take some original parts if/when required.

Recently got into Horology as a hobby, this is a bit of a Junker Special comprising of:

- Seiko 6309A movement (circa 1974)
- Seiko 7S26-02W0 Dial and Hands
- Seiko 6309-8070 case with new crystal and crown
- Some eBay special strap

It's my everyday wear and what I've been practising on, the case was in a right state when I got it but I've polished it back and brushed the top. It's not perfect by any means, but it'll probably get another going over when I fancy another go.

Keeps good time, +4/sec a day with a negligable beat error that I've been unable to track down. I think it's the hairspring, but it's good enough for the moment.

Got a Seiko SpeedTimer Flyback Chronograph 7017-8000 on the block at the moment, that will hopefully just need a strip/clean/re-oiling and a tidy up on the case. Picked that up off eBay for £120, and they seem to be going for 3-4 times that now. Bonkers market.
