What watch do you wear?

I heard that having the watch stop, then winding it again can shorten it's life, is that not true? I was looking at the Pateker Ebony Wood Finish Dual Watch Winder for £89.99.

I don't think there is any truth in that. A lot of people argue that having a watch on a winder unnecessarily increases stresses on it. I would just do as you please.

I've found an interesting Zenith Diver I'm looking at. Don't see these ones come up that often, so will see how I can wangle this one with her in doors.

250quid it was and could do with a sort out, but it's very rare to see a Zenith Defy Quartz up, they typically go for about 1k

I'm one of the people that sit in that camp. Having a watch run 24/7 will put wear on your watch. Watches I don't wear often, I'll wind up once every 2 months to keep the movement lubricated.

I've got the OM Explorer II and it's a heft watch and well built. I had an issue with the crown not screwing down properly but it was handled well and they covered return postage.

I need a smart casual watch...budget 150-200.

I like the look of some of the Citizen Eco Drive watches but theyre a little beyond budget . E.g. Red Arrows collection. (Not sure why )

Any other suggestions?

Please note, i have a RW dress watch, this watch will purely be a day to day shirt and jeans piece.

Have a look at the Orient watches. Seem to be well regarded on here. I'll be ordering one shortly but can't decide between a blue or black face.

Completely bottled on changing the dial to a radio room one on my Amphibia, so sent it off to a proper watch repairer. Very happy with the results. Not really viewable in the pics, but the dark red bits on the new dial have a great metallic sheen in the right light.

Interesting. Imo tho having to explain that every time someone asked why arent they centered (if indeed Anyone asked) would be annoying.

I was on vacation in Tokyo last week and was checking out the Tag Heuer boutique. I enquired about the Connected watch and was sad to be told it was sold out. So after making a bit of a sad face I asked if they had any of the straps available so I picked up a couple with a plan to source one online or when I next visited to the USA.

After a bit of a look around, I was preparing to pay for the straps when the shop assistant then offered me a pre-order watch that had not yet been collected. I jumped at the chance and with a small tax free discount I got the watch for about $1300 and a very happy face. I asked them to put the yellow band on for now (Also have black, green and red)

I got done by the seller... he realised he could get more for the Zenith so hoyed it back up for 450quid. Joker. It's still worth it I'd say, but I wanted it when I was paying 300EUR for it! There's actually a nice black bezeled Defy Quartz sub online at the moment too, but it's 600GBP so a bit steeper.

I think you can report them to ebay for doing that... it's clearly not tolerated if you have 'bough' it and they then refuse to send it, and re-list it...

Looks awesome. I would buy one too, if I had that kind of disposable cash.
