What watch do you wear?

Got a cheap winder as I couldn't be arsed to keep winding the crown when I didn't wear one of my watches for a day or two.. Will it cause any damage?

It will cause extra wear if it's winding them constantly.

Is it completely silent in operations? I'm very sensitive to the slightest noise and I'd want it in my bedroom.

I'll need to check tonight but it is very quiet. Sometimes I do hear a minor whir as its going round but nothing major really. I'm sure that after time it'll be blocked out as background noise. I will be switching it into my room from my spare room when i rearrange my spare room this week so I'll let you know if it wakes me! I'm a light sleeper and generally wake up when there are odd noises not typical of a 'normal' night's sleep.

I picked this up in Newcastle at the weekend. Absolutely love it

is it just the angle, or has that bottom right lug been ground down and polished to hide a ding, it is very slightly thinner

Nothing that I can see. Maybe just the angle. My girlfriend was none to happy using her flowers as a 'watch prop'. Apparently I have the watch more admiring glances this Valentine's Day than her ...

Yes it's not like the stock pictures really.

In low light it's very dark, a sort of teal colour, almost grey.

The rest of the time it's sort of Navy and in bright direct light its a royal blue.

I like it, prefer it to the black, but they're both nice.

Did you send yours back? Was that someone else? Think there are quite a few owners here now MRK? Steve somebody with one in his sig

All black I think

I have the same one and I can sleep with it right next to me on the bedside table. It's about as silent as an electric motor is going to get,

I concur with this. Moved it next to my bed last night during my room rearranging and didn't even notice it was on. With the lid open the motor is more pronounced but it's quiet nonetheless.

My new watch, an Orient Mako Automatic CEM65004B for £100. My first automatic, a nice step up from my £40 Accurist (which was a blatant Omega Seamaster rip off with the copper/orange bezel).

Thought I'd try a NATO strap instead of the rubber strap it came on.
