What watch do you wear?

Is that the box it came in? I've got the standard Omega red pillow box but yours looks like something more akin to the box the speedy etc comes in?

Yes it came in that box, the red ones are being phased out. The leather surround flips up to reveal storage for the warranty cards, a soft watch bag and a compartment for a couple of straps or other bits.

Nice, time to get on the bay and source one!

Not one for crazy expensive watches (as I'm a poor man), but just picked up this Tag duty free on Cruise ship. Missus got some Tanzanite so thought it fair trade. Paid £1000, but I know for sure there are places online getting under that and well under the £1200.

I have skinny wrists and hate big watches so she's a tiddler :), and I love rubber straps and no complications!

TAG HEUER
FORMULA 1 - WAZ2113.FT8023

My first ever watch over £150 odd.

Oh and if anyone loves watches, visit Sint Maarten, I have never seen so many shops with high end watches, all seemingly really cheap.

Any recommendations on watch boxes? I'm looking for a couple of 4-6 piece boxes that have spacers wide enough that largish watches don't knock together but the boxes themselves aren't stupidly big that they can't be put into an average home safe. Thanks.

Got an email notification from Watchfinder the other day and it linked a post to their blog which had this watch in it.

Review: Christophe Claret Baccara Dragon

If you follow the announcements from the big watch fairs, chances are you’ll have come across the term ‘novelty’. A novelty is a manufacturer’s chance to show off its skills, usually with something a bit fun, and most often with something extremely, eye-wateringly, wallet-shrinkingly expensive. Christophe Claret’s Baccara Dragon is a benchmark example of a novelty. Limited to just nine pieces—that’s not a typo, it really is limited to nine—it takes the concept of a fun, expensive complication to another level. So what’s Christophe Claret’s game? Well, it’s just that—a game. Baccarat to be specific.

And that’s the crux: there are 538 parts in the Baccara Dragon, and each one’s going to cost you—about £230 each, to be precise. This watch fulfils the ‘expensive’ part of the novelty criterion very well indeed, costing a whopping (for those that can’t be bothered to work it out) £125,000, or in normal money, a decent-sized flat in the south east of England. Just as well there are only nine of them, then.

Amazing!

looks nice; curved crystal?

I wish they'd release a better bracelet; that's the only thing I don't partiticularly like on my Premium Blue -- it's still my most worn watch!

likewise - I actually changed my Premium Blue to a NATO strap - a navy blue one, and it works really well, and much more comfortable. The standard bracelet was nice, but not amazing.

Weird encounter of the day. I use the chronograph hand on my speedy as a date hand, advancing it a second every day.

On the way home tonight I was stopped on the tube by a random guy who said 'I work for Omega, if you leave your chronograph on like that you'll wear out the watch'.

Any truth, or just random drunk encounter?

Just got a citizen red arrows model in today, leather strap with red stitching. Paid £320.00 for it.

Maybe not to everyones taste but i quite liked the design. Strap is a nice buckle model as opposed to the fold over clasp design on the casio edifice i bought a whille back.

Too busy for my tastes, reminds me of a Navi.
