What watch do you wear?

Getting some ridiculous offers for my James Bond Aqua Terra. £2200-£2400? Really. These companies think they can make a 40-50% mark-up with a quick service, clean and punt.

Where is a good forum to sell watches privately please?

If the watch has stopped and you took the watch off it most likely will not need a service. I'm a Watchmaker myself. Look around online. Panerai's do not need to go back to Panerai.

unitas ones maybe not, in house movements no one else will have the parts

and the 351 has a panerai movement

tz-uk but you need a certain post count

most companies will look to offer 1k less than they intend to sell for, and probably will only give it a light polish, they certainly wont service it thats for sure

Thanks. That's a shame. £1K less, surely it depends on the value?

sometime, im speaking about watches in that 3-6k band,

its a volume game for the larger players really, so 1k on your omega or 1k on a rolex sub that they are selling for 2k more is all the same to them.

I love my red arrows sky-hawk and don't think i will shift it ever :) Its such a great day to day beater!

I have had watches that other really don't like (and still do!), its was just that particular watch that really made me feel a bit eurgh! If anything, thats part of the appeal to me, everyone is different!

I am still waiting for the Obris Morgan explorer 2 to do a new run. Love that watch!
The citizen isnt a bad piece tbh. Just a little bit on the big side for me. Hardly ever have it on now though, hence id like to get shot of it as the money would go towards something id get more use out of.

I'd rather keep it and hope it appreciates in the future then let them make so much money from me for doing nothing!

I much prefer my Bremont although I do like wearing the Omega from time to time. I'd rather have an Oceanmaster though!

First time I've taken a pic with them all together. The Speedy has been getting a lot of wrist time lately and is back on its original bracelet rather than brown leather. I've fallen in love with it again

My latest purchase.

1969 Seiko 5 sports 6119. Really like the case shape on older seiko's. All original, bezel and chrystal in great shape. Just a few tiny scratches on the case sides.

Lovely collection. Big fan of all three!

Is that a pre-ceramic Sea Dweller? Can't quite tell from the pic of the bezel, but the lugs certainly don't look as wide (thankfully) as most of the ceramic SDs I've seen.

I think i've finally found a watch i would like for my 40th. I've never seen a 'Ball' in person so i think it'll be quite exclusive, but does anybody else have any experience with them, particularly this one...

Thanks

they used to be very popular, now not as much, that watch could be had for a grand on the second hand market, they dont hold the price well.

I personally would not by it, but if you like it go for it, you need to go with your heart on these purchases.

Hi mate. Yes it's a pre-ceramic SD. You can tell the difference because the Ceramic version has minute markers on the bezel all the round instead of the initial 15 mins.

Wez - no experience with Ball watches but looks quite handsome. I'll echo what Soundood said - if resale doesn't bother you then go for it.

Anyone had any dealings with Steinhart recently.
Been trying to contact them regarding a detached winder/crown, tried web notes, their info and after sales email addresses since mid august.
Are they still in business ??
Cheers

They are still in business as i just bought another watch direct from them on thursday. Theyve recently updated their website so things are maybe a bit messed up. Generally heard nothing but praise for their support.
