What watch do you wear?

lol @mrk. I thought about buying one as a punt when you posted the link to them the other day but decided against it.

P.s still waiting for my barton strap. Really looking forward to getting it :D

My Barton hasn't arrived yet either! Got 2 incoming and they left export in the 10th so any day now!

Quite funny this one Mrk, I like it. Congrats ;)

On a different note and as a brief update regarding the accuracy of my ProPilot X, I have been taking measurements over the past 11 days (via Toolwatch, iPhone app so worth what it's worth) and here are the results:

Clearly once you pass the official 10 days power reserve the accuracy suffers :o

I'd have thought you'd be losing more time as the mainspring loses power and as such the balance wheel will be having less energy?

I guess that's why it can run up to 12 days and half in reality. The extra power/strength ensures that during the 10 days officially advertised a good accuracy is maintained.

Seems quite cheap, I sold one second hand for that about 5 years ago and they've jumped in price since. Probably not worth it unless they have a receipt etc.

Thanks for that. No receipt unfortunately. I really like the look of them but I'm wondering how I would tell if it's a fake?

Shamelessly nicked from another forum - https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/...ver's Reference pictures,a fake it is normal.

  1. Fake case number. (7S26-7039) There is no 7039 diver with 7S26 movement.
  2. A 5 etched on the crystal. It is the Seiko5 emblem.
  3. Some dial fonts are blatantly different. Use the Diver's Reference pictures to compare fonts.
  4. The line from the 6 o'clock hour marker should be directly underneath the S on the DIVER'S 200m. It is underneath (slightly on the right side) of the R on some fakes.
  5. The font on the real one is BOLD and on a fake it is normal.
  6. The width of the word Automatic is the same width as Seiko on some fakes. Automatic is slightly wider on the real deal.
  7. Divers 200m written in white (supposed to be red/orange).
  8. Fake SN's - (maybe 302137), 655859, 337461, 542252, 543187, 996479, 996460, 820061, 701032, & 700418. On some fakes, the 9964 looks uniform but the last two digits look like they are hand stamped. Be leary of any 9964XX. (any more???)
  9. Font on the bezel is wrong. 10 should be a straight line and not have tick mark.
  10. Bezel lume pip is abnormally large.
  11. On a 009, the red & blue paint meet on the bezel should split the 20 right down the middle. On some fakes it shaves the left side of the 0 while others is splits the 2.
  12. Second hand should have the meatball. Some fakes have a second hand with a spear tip sort of like a SS Samurai or mid-size SKX013/015.
  13. Close-up of the hour marker borders shows uneven lume distribution.
  14. No dial code located below the 6 o'clock marker.
  15. Slight case variations near the crown. The polished upper scallop on the crown guard on the lower side of the crown is in the wrong proportion. It's hard to tell unless you compare it side by side with a real 0020 case.
  16. Most fakes have plastic clicksprings. The real ones are metal. Also many of these bezels often have a plastic track in the underside of the rotating bezel ring (to work with the click spring). In real ones the track is part of the metal ring, not a separate plastic piece.
  17. Japan Diver's on the caseback. Should be Scuba Diver's.

Spot on, this is what most large single barrel movements are capable of but as they tail off massively towards the end of the power reserve the manufacturer add that tolerance in.

If you have a look at the Bremont Supersonic, when the needle reaches zero on the power reserve there is still some "reserve" left, like on a fuel gauge as the barrel still has some power left in it.

The Silver is back in stock as of this moment, I've been yoyoing on the idea of getting one for the past week, still can't decide if I want one or not :(

Go for it whilst there is stock. If you sell on once bored, you won't be losing any money on it that's for sure if eBay is anything to go by as of now lol. Minimum ~£90 on there currently.

That's 2 watches I've bought in 2 weeks now :( Not the last either, need to find a nice case to keep them all in

How many do you have now? I got a watch box from Amazon £20 that holds 6 although now I have 6 lol so one sits on its side in the box :p

My wife bought me a little cuff link box from notonthehighstreet a few years back which is really good quality. She has a full blown jewelry box from the same company and had that many years. They also make a 3 or 5 watch storage box which I've now asked for as a xmas present :D

Obviously no good for those of you with a huge collection. I only have 3 watches, 2 are not worth putting in the box but I plan to get a couple more nice ones over the years.
