What's better to wrap my sandwiches in: foil or plastic bag?

More importantly, if you make a sandwich using two slices of bread and then cut it in half, do you still only have one sandwich or do you now have two?

you have two

I don't like to cut them in half again though as 4 sandwiches is a bit too much for me to eat

I get a roll out the freezer when I go to bed so it's ready in the morning, I stick in my lunchbox on top of a plastic sandwich bag. Make roll in morning, put roll in same plastic bag, throw it in lunchbox, done. Reuse bag until Thursday and throw it in the bin and start again Monday.

Once, and only once because it tasted horrible, I didn't use a bag and had it loose in my lunchbox. I won't have bare fruit in my box either after the time I had a banana in there. The stink when I pulled the lid off.. and the food tasted slighly banana'ish.

Two, because every division of sandwich is as big as sandwich itself.

No, if a sandwich is made from 2 slices of bread and filling, then cut in half you have 2 halves.

If it's made from 1 piece of bread just folded over it's a sandwich, if you cut that in half it's then half a sandwich, but that half would be equal to a quarter sandwich when using 2 slices.

This. Just take a loaf of bread, spread, sandwich ingredients and a knife all in a sack with you.

exactly this! I tend to take a table and chairs with me made from artisanal non treated wood so that I dont get chemicals from furniture you find out and about :D

Ah, but regarding the part in bold, what if you cut the slice instead of just folding it over?

Everyone knows a manwich finishes off the loaf, so you then have the bag the loaf was in, problem solved!;)

If size is the determining factor, then how many sandwiches you have depends on the size of the slices of bread and possibly the thickness of the bread and the thickness of the filling. So a thick filling between large thick slices of bread could be as much as two sandwiches and a thin filling between two small thin slices of bread could be as little as half a sandwich.

We need to establish a standard size of sandwich immediately!

Go medieval style and carry it all in a leather bag at your waist.

Its a very complex question.

Its all down to moisture and temperature, plastic is not good, tinfoil yes to a point, cling film is a no go as it will sweat like a turkey waiting for Christmas unless kept in a fridge.

Brown paper or cardboard is the way to go, why do you think all sandwiches in the supermarket are kept in a fridge and cardboard boxes.

The cardboard is coated in plastic....

At what point do they become mini sandwiches?

I feel that once they're quartered they are 4 mini sandwiches

It depends how fractal the loaf is. Are we talking Warburton's or a freshly baked, crusty granary?
