What's for Breakfast today?

I occasionally have some questionable/odd breakfasts but that one just turned my stomach upside down...

Ha. I don't eat until 12 so it's not too bad. With some seasoning, garlic and onion it's pretty good. Also very nutritious.

I'll also add boiled eggs, if I'm not eating eggs for dinner.

The food I have seen at breakfast buffets at hotels is a massive variety - salads, fruit, breads, cooked meat, variety of eggs (boiled, poached, fried etc), pastries, yoghurts etc.

Then a large queue of British queuing up at the cornflakes! Cornflakes are the most boring least filling breakfast cereal ever.

I usually have a huge breakfast as then just need something light for lunch.

You're not English are you. I suspect you're from Scandinavia or Denmark or somewhere else Nordic ?

But they're very easy to eat and digest with low sugar if you've not got a big appetite when you wake up. Bland food is good for early risers who just want to put something in their stomach to control insulin levels and carb cravings. I prefer overnight oats on those type of days myself.

Standard fare for hospital breakfasts. Cornflakes and cold toast...

Tried overnight oats and texture is unpleasant.

Most foods I don’t like is due to texture. If it feels horrible in my mouth, I’m not going to enjoy it.

Food should be enjoyable to eat.

Things I don’t eat due to texture- bananas (fine in smoothies and in cakes), cottage cheese, savoy cabbage etc.

Very few foods I don’t like for taste - low meat content sausages, all Heinz products, anything with Chinese 5 spice (it’s the fennel) and other aniseed flavour stuff

Exactly. They're not trying to tempt you with fancy flavours or please your palate. They just want to keep you alive with basic nutrition.
When my mum was in hospital with various joint replacements- you should see the number of visitors and food couriers with fast food.

Hospitals think every patient is elderly and/or has a small appetite.

When my dad had surgery and afterwards, was asked what sandwiches he wanted from a choice of three. He said could he have all of them! He got them all

Please stop.

Overnight oats with sultanas is my go to for when I have to go to into the office.
Just so quick and easy and keeps me going for the day.

Today at home I had home-baked cheese scones with butter and Marmite.
Nom nom.... you either love it or hate it!
