Whats happened to all the WW2 Shooters!!

DOD Source is one of my favourite online FPS games. I tried to sign but just get 3 dots loading doing nothing and wont let me sign. I tried

Red Orchestra is a bit more hardcore in that it doesnt highlight friends / enemies, much like it wouldnt in real life. You have to look on the map for friendlies or just see what they are wearing / look like

kar98k! Its way more exciting getting an iron sight kill than scoped for some reason.

Squad is the new leader of tactical fps in my eyes now. Standard fps just seems dull


-render distance is fixed now :)
 
I'd just love a more hardcore FPS back. All this you die and are four seconds tilll you shot again is mince. Older gamer and loved the old BF1942 and the epic rounds lasting a hour.

i play rising storm as a dummy but i still love playing it, i killed a few :)

ww2 games should be hard an you should expect to die :(

I don't understand why snyone would wants to play a game against AI now. Especially a tactical fps game.

In a game like squad its based around communication and working as a team. If you don't you die. Getting a good squad leader can make all the difference

AI would work to a point, but in the end they are going to not take into account xy or z unless you are also playing against ai. Then the game is just all drafted out. It would have to be very intelligent ai indeed to learn all the tactics of a real battle and know the very best thing to do all the time. However this would not be realistic. It sounds stupid but when you have ran for 5 minutes with your squad then come under fire you panic and really do not want to die.

Its the only game where my heartrate increases when you see trace fire and hear snaps of enemy fire so drop down to the ground or hide somewhere / throw smoke etc. any other game I wouldnt be bothered and just respawn. Squad you feel like you have let your team down, may have to wait a minute to respawn then run 5 minutes to get back to your teams position
