Whats the first thing you install once built a new system?!

Latest MSN, Firefox, Winamp, Office. Thats about all I can think of, I try to keep it as minimal as possible but that goes out of the window after a while anyway.

Got to be honest, the forst thing I put on there was 3D Mark 2005 to make sure I hadn't wasted my money, was happy with the results!!

What Do You Install?!

Essentail programs - like AV, spyware, Firewalls and programs like MS Office, Photoshop etc. Once I got my AV and stuff set up, I then go on the interweb for MS updates/other software updates.

Followed by my games and other programs.

Usually i do thibgs in this order :

Chipset drivers
Display drivers
Antivrus/Firewall
Any other drivers ( X-fi, printer etc )
Restore favorites folder
Apps ( office etc )
Games and restore saved games

Auto Update runs in background and install files when asked.

christ - the list is too long!!

firewall and av before going online, then windows updates, then a whole lot of apps. takes ages, which is why I use acronis. do all this stuff, then create an image of a clean install!
