Album: Gallows - Orchestra Of Wolves. (I'm listening to this as I write this).
Release: 2006.
Genre: Hardcore Punk.
Stand out track: They're all stand out. It's a punch in the face and kick in the balls from start to finish. But my favourite track is "Will someone shoot that ****ing snake". It was my mum who introduced me to punk and hardcore punk as I used to listen to all her old vinyls from the 70s and 80s when I was a kid. But for years I'd been getting my fix firmly from American hardcore bands and occasionally British bands (like Million Dead). Million Dead split and the following year Orchestra of Wolves landed. I was young, angry and OoW laid out exactly how I felt. And still feel at times. Which is why I can listen to it again and again. It doesn't matter how I'm feeling, but when I put on OoW, within 10 seconds of "Kill The Rhythm" I'm ready to get in a pit and slam dance and keep going until the end of Orchestra Of Wolves.
OoW and the second album Grey Britain are two of the best hardcore punk albums in the world and definitely two of the best that have ever come out of England. Roll on number three.
