if its the part i am thinking of, i found it quite hard to get ....

the part in A pentatonic near the start? 5th to 8th on the B, then open, then onto the 8th on the G? first time i played that ..... ewwww ...

Hip today was quite hard, the start of the solo is only 7 notes that kinda rotate, the difficulty was getting the phraseing and synchopation right, to get it sounding like Nuno ...

:)

You roll your finger, so that only one string will sound at a time.

If you want me to record you a small demo, or go into more detail or something, add me to msn :)

Video us some "Learn to Play Muse by Nitefly" tutorial stylee sessions please! :)

How many of you guitarists have your own recording facilities? I'm thinking it would be fun to setup a Jam now and then, maybe one a month, where we choose a backing track, and each jam over it.

Or if there's enough people, it might be fun to designate a minute for each person, so that one person can record their minute, export the audio and then the next person records their minute, and so on until we have a full jam with several people over the same track :)

Anyone up for it?

lawl :) anyone who has a toneport/VST guitar rig thingum and audacity can participate, quality doesn't have to be great.

A lot of people over at the Petrucci forum (John Petrucci - Dream Theater's guitarist) do the same thing which is where I got the idea from, and it's great when you've all jammed over the track and can listen through to it, if you like you can also ask for constructive criticism towards you're playing; if you're looking to improve it..

Lol, I don't have a camera and many people on this forum are far more talented than me... but if you did wan't some help just add me to msn. The most I could offer is to record something and then talk you through it I'm afraid!

Thats a brilliant idea, I think something similar happens on either Jemsite or the RacerX forum, which seems to work. I would be up for it, but it would sadly expose my inability to improvise ;)

Good good so that's 2 people, lawl..

Nitefly I think that must be the RacerX forum as I haven't seen anything on Jemsite before :) It's a good idea though, more places should do it.

Anyone else interested?

Oh and heres an example of one of those jams...

The shredding on offer here is of a very high standard in places, so if you are amature (like me), don't let it put you off. I plan to annoy you all with a ring modulater section :D

i get up around 10... 10.30, get dressed, plot to kill you, break for lunch, plot where to bury your body, break for dinner, play guitar, watch scrubs, go to bed.

its a filling day!

get with the backing track :p

one that'll flow nicely for god knows how many repeats

I've kinda hit a wall in my guitar playing at the moment. I've been trying to learn some sweep picking but I can't really get the hang of it. Hardest songs I can play are probably Master of Puppets by Metallica or Imperium by Machine Head.
