Nope it run's on a hybrid DX9 AFAIK.

So whatever runs in DX10 on a PC and then gets released on Xbox360, this means that the graphics wont be as good on the Xbox 360 right..., that litrally points out that PC Gaming wont die ;)

It runs on a hybrid card it does not run some hybrid DX9C, same with the PS3, which its a special 7800 range card, but PC has gone 7900 > 8800 and into DX10 so console are once again behind but the games are far better coded for them as the hardware is static, a PC could have many diff types of mobo chipset/CPU/GPU/RAM so thats a issue, DX10 was suppost to help this by some unified way of working from Hardware MANU's to game DEV's to end product

Yes DX9 Hybrid card. Also the "unified way of working" for DX10 is basically just set it so you can have the Unified Stream Processors doing a number of dfferent things which should perform better than the old method.

Yea it "Should", but it dont at the moment :(

It wont atm as no games use it very well. We will have to wait for vista to be ok and be at the same speed as XP, drivers from the card makers to be good, game engines to work well. Until all of them are done dx10 will be very good and fast.

That Alan Wake looks amazing, even better than crysis, is that DX10? Looks like for that your going to need a Quad Core for sure ot run that at high settings and also 8800GTX.

i have to agree with an earlyer post pc's out perform consoles and as for gears of war it may look sublime on a massive telly i hounestly cant think of another game on the 360 that looks as good as gears of war.
pgr3 looks nice but dirt looks nicer fear looked good on the pc but on ps3 pants on a 40" sammy.
we pay good money because we whant good performance they will sell a lot of g90 gpu's because the gts's have done so well and nvidia will dominate for another year .
wierd when you think about it people have paid loads of money for dx10 cards and really we wont be playing any serious dx10 games for another 6 or 10 months atleast wich by then will be released a new set of high end cards that hopefully make these 8800's look like 8600,s are now

either way im going for my first super high end card. the 9800 gtx, whenever its out. going to have to use my uni grant for it though.

also TOM|nbk, it says you are using the cat 7.7s beta, are they any good at all? any fixes or tweaks?

I buy consoles for the games....halo3, graw2, gow, forza2 etc.....stuff that's either exclusive to consoles or is ported poorly to the pc ala vegas. And the ability to just put the game in and play and not spend endless amount of time tweaking settings is nice too. Personally I prefer a good session of Forza2 on my 46" LCD then playing an equivalent PC game on my LCD. Console gaming is also more family friendly. Having said all that, PC graphics are ahead but you pay for the privelage.
