Whats the point in life?

A2s won't get you a job. Get your A2s, get a degree, enjoy your 3/4 years at university then get a job to enjoy your life and pay the bills.

Dont get stuck in the rat race just because you think it's the right thing to do..
Find something FUN to do and then find a way to make a living from it.
The world really is your oyster at your age.

Well I'll just shamelessly steal a quote from The Flowfield Unity
If you stay on the straight and narrow, you’ll get there before everyone else… but just where are you going? Death, that’s where… and do you really want to get there so quickly?
Slightly depressing, but true :(

I'm in the 3rd year on my degree, and have realised that it's a subject I no longer want to do, in fact the only reasons I am doing it is because I had a natural aptitude for engineering and used to wonder how the world works. Now I have to put in a lot more effort, which is fine anyway, but I don't care how the world works as I've accepted I'll never fully understand it, and all that really matters is that it does work, not why.

I've just come to accept that anything I do will really make no difference at all, in 100 years time, everyone I know will be gone, so you may as well make the most of life and enjoy it while you have it.

also, getting a job, bit hard right now..

girlfriend, where can you find someone trusting these days

money, i have no job

car, need money

vicious circle.. Money buys you happiness.. FACT

Lmao, just this week I've got 3 jobs... Only part time and retail based but something to tie me over until uni, My girlfriend i met at college, I haven't got no money and am into my overdraft quite a bit but im perfectly happy and can enjoy myself without spending.

The only reason you don't have a job is because you're no trying hard enough!

you make it all sound so easy.. I have hobbies yes, none which I could make a job out of.. Im gonna go to uni hopefully to do Business Marketing or something in advertising but apparently they are jobs which are hard to get..

It's the society that your born into, No one knows any different. "It's all about the money". The main goal in life is to be happy but society has made it such a way that you have no meaningful life without money. yada yada yada it's 23:30.

Rubbish. Some people really do have worse luck. All the want in the world won't change anything unless the opportunity presents itself.

Life is not as black and white as you think. Get dragged through the mill one day and you'll realise that yourself.

Whats all this I hear about Gap Years? Must be expensive, I wont be able to have one my parents will disown me saying I'm wasting my time. If I got a gap year I'd want to cycle europe or something but I'd probs get murdered at night by some creepy russian guy in a forest.

Now im 18 i know what they mean

No, you realy don't.

Hell I don't either, I've been working in an officer for just over a year, no qualifications, jack all on my horizon, but at the moment I am just sitting and being because it's easy enough to get on with.

One important thing is Time, I've got time, and I realy don't mind sitting in a job that is awefully dull most of the time because I have relative job security, decent pay and I can concentrate on figuring out what I want to do with the rest of my life.

Don't think you have to know what you want to do with your life right now, I doubt 90% of the people on earth know at the age of 18, I didn't and still don't.

Just do what comes natural, you'll figure it out eventualy. For now just pass your exams, and get your ass to University and get a degree of some sort.

I spent my gap year working my ass off. Result of it is i've only just run out of savings in the last two months of my final year of Uni. Other people i know have several student overdrafts by now (one of them has over £4k in overdrafts and will have to have it paid back by this time next year!).

Part of me wishes i had done something more exciting with my gap year, but now i know i can do so much more in the not too distant future.

Oh right so sitting around and waiting for a job to come to you is the right way to go about things then?!?!

Don't twist my words. You can apply for all the jobs that you can, thus increasing your odds but that doesn't mean it'll cash in and you'll end up employed. You can still very likely be unemployed. I wonder what song you'd be singing if you didn't have your stroke of good fortune? What's more I bet you're arrogant enough to assume that it wasn't good fortune and that you're either deserving or better than others for it.

Lesson number one: Life is not black and white; it is full of greyscale. Sometimes you'll be lucky and find some colour, but that doesn't mean that the rainbow is the norm.

It's true that people make their own luck, but it's only true insofar as they allow the opportunities to present themselves. People can try very hard and still not find any windows. Don't flatter yourself. If life were all down to self-determination, no-one would ever have grounds to be miserable, ever.
