What's your favourite beer?

Another good one is Tesco American Double IPA, AKA Brewdog Hardcore IPA. On offer atm in Tesco if you fancy an alcoholic beating (it's 9.2%)! Very fruity, and will knock your head off.

I had this beer once, was belgian I think. Had it in a restaurant called cafe belge in Canterbury, it came out in a rounded bottom glass so it couldn't sit directly on the table but it had like a little wooden trophy holder for it. Can't think what it was called but that was beautiful as well. Couldn't drink too many for a 'session', but was lovely and smooth with dinner.

EDIT: It wasn't Kwak by the way, google image searches have led me to think that that glass and stand is pretty impressive though.

Having just come back from Belgium, I believe what you may be referring to is Leutebok. Comes in a wooden stand with a special glass that won't stand up on its own, unlike Kwak.

Another vote for Kwak here though, I could drink that all day, it's lovely.

St. Peters Best Bitter is a fav of mine.

Good man! Been overlooking this forum until I noticed this thread. We have some great breweries round here, Woodfordes, St Peters, Grain (fairly recent 2006), Wolf Brewery and the Green Jack brewery. Its like heaven :D

Never been a massive fan of Lager but do have a taste for Asahi & Baltika №3.

This website seems to be pretty good for all the continental brews. Seem to charge £6.75 no matter what for delivery as long as you're in UK mainland. Oh and they only accept orders of £20 or more. But could be a good shout for all those reading about brews on here and interested to try a few of them.

EDIT:

Check out some of the mixed cases at the above link half way down on the left, some cracking deals there too. Very tempting.

That's a really tough question.

I do like a bottle of Leffe Blonde sometimes but I also really like Weihenstephan.

When I first moved over here to Cardiff (from Ireland), I despised Ales as I thought they were fairly bland. I really like them now, but mainly with food. I like to have a nice Ale with food now.

When I go out for a game of poker or something, I tend to get a Bitter as it's cheap and pretty good taste wise.

Paulaner Munchen Helles. Preferably straight from a Microbrewery.

Pilsner Urquell on tap if I can find it over here, though.

La Gauloise Blonde is a lovely Belgium tipple, too.

Been drinking a lot of Doom Bar recently.

Love Doom Bar, but it always gives me an upset stomach the day after. :(.

I'm a fan of Paulaner too, I could really do with a cold one soon.

I've never tried a Pilsner on tap, I'd be interested in it but would hate to get it out of a dodgy, uncleaned tap.

One of the microbreweries I visited in Munich had the tap directly hooked up to the brewing tank. Unfiltered godlyness.

Majestic, the wine people, tend to sell 12x500ml of it or the Oktoberfest version.
