What's your "go to" take away order?

Had a "discussion" with the wife over this during the weekend. We probably order a take away once a month. Each time it's a battle of wills.

I'm partial to a pizza (toppings can vary on mood, but pizza is always number 1 choice of take away).

She always wants a Chinese take away, consisting of the same things.-

Spring rolls
crispy beef
salt and pepper chicken
beef fried rice
crispy seaweed

So what's your go to's?

Sounds similar, i would always go Pizza and my wife would generally always want chinese, like yours she will also be consistent (Chicken fried rice, curry sauce and salt and pepper chips).

Fried chicken or kebabs.

And I live in a rural area now and I can't get decent either - which is probably a good thing.

I have takeaways quite a lot and like to chop n change between Indian, Chinese, McDonalds, Pizza or Kebab, i kinda rotate where i order from so i don't get bored of the same thing,
although the Indian whacked it's prices right up a couple of weeks ago so not sure i'll have that again

Chinese usually, don't do Indian much.

Singapore chow mein, Yung Chow rice, Szechuan chicken , crispy chilli beef and occasionally Mongolian ribs if I'm feeling flush...
I'll usually get three days out of that lot- which I know is not advised, but I've not killed myself yet :P

As a single person I'm priced out by minimum order value. So no takeaways for me.

I'm in a similar position so i'm always looking for deals, i used a £3 discount voucher for Foodhub yesterday and got a large chicken shish kebab with large fries delivered for £8
sometimes i'll over order to make the min spend and get 2 meals out of it, example is when i have an Indian, all i really want is a chicken korma + chips..
but as it's lower than the min spend i get another curry and a keema rice to re heat the next evening

Pizza for me.

But the last two (edit) I had wasn't worth it.
I suspect ingredients have been changed to keep price rises down. Cheese particularly tasted less exciting.
It tasted bland enough that I actually nearly Prefer the Chicago town ones.

So now I'm paying more for an inferior product.

And at 4* more I think I'll be leaving takeaways. And sticking to the super market.

I'm continually dissapointed by Chinese too. And thats also really expensive now.

Usually a Chinese for takeaway, either duck or chicken satay.

Indian if I'm pushing the boat out as they are usually twice the price. Saying that Indian takeaway seems to miss something without the ambience of the restaurant so would rather just go to the restaurant.

I like pizza but holidays to Italy have spoilt me, plus they are usually cold by the time they are delivered.

OP needs to send me his missus' number. We would get on well.

egg fried rice
crispy chilli beef
singapore rice vermicelli
salt and pepper chicken
fried seaweed

Thats the core I would go for and then

chicken yellow bean
beef black bean
S&S chicken balls

depending on how many people we are getting it for.

Only time I feel like I get any value from a pizza is when you get enough to feed about 10 people for £20 from papa johns. Pizza is nice but dear lord is it overpriced for what it is.

We like to get takeaways over the weekend but we also like to try different places frequently. Our go-to's are Indian, Chinese, Thai, Jamaican, Lebanese, Greek, burgers and pizzas. In no particular order.

Discovered a nice new StirFry place which is essentially a Wok2Walk rip off but is really really nice. I do tend to order the same things from different cuisines though.

Indian: Ceylon Lamb, Pilau rice, Keema or Garlic naan and some onion bhajis.
Chinese: Szechuan Roast Pork/Duck, special fried rice. If not that then Kung Po chicken.
Greek/Lebanese we'll often get a large sharing platter with all the meats and rice/chips and flat brreads.
Thai: Penang/Massaman/Rendang curries but will ask to be made a bit spicier
Pizza - Anything with all the meats and especially nduja.

I'd rather treat myself from a supermarket or get an M&S pizza.
it's not like it's much effort to put something in the oven for 18-30 minutes and then put it on a plate
Some supermarket pizza's are ok for the money and i do buy them from time to time,
but they all come on pre cooked frozen bases that you're just re heating, fresh dough from a good independent place is so much nicer, there's no comparison to me

you can make your own fresh pizza really easy though and it will taste better than a takeaway
