Seems to be about 33/34 at the moment in the 106 GTI but it's new to me, therefore novel, therefore probably giving it more beans than I will be in a few more weeks. That's about the quoted figure though I think.

OOps. Yep, fixed that now.
When it asked for cost on the main screen, it didn't state whether that was cost pr litre or overall cost.
First time I've decided to put in the price!

But of course lets consider this is a 106 with just 57bhp. So, you'd expect it to be economical. The only thing it does is 'be economical'. It probably doesnt even have a clock.

Lets see what the mpg/bhp ratio is though shall we?

54bhp and 70mpg = 0.75 bhp/mpg ratio

231bhp and 35mpg = 6.6bhp/mpg ratio

Comparatively speaking then those 106 XND's suck down fuel :p

I used to get ~380 miles from about 54 litres in my 1.6 petrol Focus Manual. Mostly stop start journeys to work in Central London on nights, less stop start on the way home in the mornings.

Tonight I did my first journey to work in the 1.8 petrol Octavia Auto, got 32.4 on the way in according to the maxidot, will be interesting to see how that changes on the way home in the morning. Journey in took 1:15 to cover about 20 miles.

OBC that hasn't been reset since I bought the car 14 months ago shows an average of 20.6mpg, and I've covered about 3,500 miles.
