29MPG on my way to work this morning. Was hammering it a fair bit though :D

Normally 33mpg+ in decent weather and not boosting everywhere.

I swear the 25mpg was a fluke

At the start of the year, I got a Megane II '05 plate, and I've been getting between 32-36mpg on city running. Over the hills and far away (Staffordshire to Yorkshire) I get around 48 mpg. I could probably get that much higher doing it via the motorways, but the scenic views are worth the extra when traveling :)

Modern engines are getting pretty impressive, both diesel and petrol. My 2011 E91 320d averages 52-53mpg, a colleague with the latest 320d and the 7(?) speed auto is averaging closer to 60mpg.

Meanwhile, the boss's Jag XK RS (5 litre supercharged V8) even averages 22.5mpg!

I was expecting roughly similar economy to my E90 330d however over 15k it averaged 34mpg.

For reasons I don't fully understand people massively exagerate the fuel economy the x30d's deliver. You see so many people swearing they do 50mpg everywhere..

53mpg so far in the 500 miles I've done in my Peugeot 407 2.0 HDi, probably 350 miles motorway, the rest urban. Did an economy 60mph run to work the other day and it returned 63mpg over the trip.

Haven't had to fill it up yet, so don't know if the trip computer is optimistic or not.

The best I have got on a full tank whilst trying on a long run was just over 40mpg. That was just after a service, at 60mph, slipstreaming when possible etc...

The auto box really seems to sap economy when paired with the 3.0 diesel. I can't speak for the manual transmission version but buying one of these with an auto box for economy is silly. I think the power delivery of the diesel suits the auto better than the petrol engine but that's about the only advantage of the diesel I can see when comparing the two, like for like.

My Nissan Primera is currently averaging 36.7 mpg over the past 400 miles. It has become my work commute car.

Not bad for a 2.0 litre petrol that was first introduced in 1989 ;).

My Celica GT-Four is somewhere in the teens as boost is too addictive.

Just set up a Fuelly account to track my mpg, managed 36.1mpg on my last tank. 90% short town journeys 2001 Toyota Celica 140. Not bad.

It depends how you use it. I've a heavier more powerful 5er variant, and have averaged more than 34 MPG. Most people will attest I drive far from slow, but I do spend a good deal of time on the motorway. Long-term I've probably averaged around 36-37 MPG.
