Whats your routine when you FIRST get to work

6am - Get Up
6:10am - Make coffee
6:20am - Log into work laptop to get job details
6:40am - Shower & shave
7am - Make another coffee and check emails
7:20am - Safety Check van and off to first job
 
Like with Mrs Seabiscuit, I swipe through the inner entrance doors, have a banter with colleagues in the 10 minutes that it takes for my ancient 2003 P4 rig to boot up... cu-chunk-cu-chunk-cu-chunk :p Then load up the equally ancient Internet Exploder 6 (which usually crashes so you have to reopen it), then log into work's web-based email. Then load up the database which is surprisingly very stable considering the hardware that it runs on :p

Walk in office,
Chat to boss and joke about,
Wake PC up,
Press F5 to refresh page (this is OCUK),
Start reading OCUK to catch up on the UK's, day events,
Check emails and start working
 
Swipecard into car park
Enter building reception main area
Swipe through turnstile to get into the outer area
Swipe through another door to get into inner area
Get a cuppa tea
Check SitRep to see if anything major happened the previous night
Start work
 
Park the car, hopefully on the street. Walk in the door, and swipe in. Head straight to the coffee machine for a double espresso. Head to my desk and get my razor/foam out my drawer if I need a shave and go for a shave otherwise sit down and drink my coffee. Chat to my colleagues for 10-15 minutes then head into the morning meeting. Have a meeting, and then go and sort out the look of the pitch. Then get to work!

0715 - Wake Up
0745 - Leave house, drive to work
0830 - Arrive to work, swipe in front gate, swipe in door, walk upstairs, turn PC on, go to toilet while it boots
0845 - Return to desk, check email and chat to co-workers until management arrive
0930 - Management arrive, I make my excuses and disappear to the labs downstairs to do some actual work
1600 - Go back upstairs, say goodbye, shut PC down and leave
 
Wake up (7AM normally)
Cycle to work for 8AM
Whilst boss not in = true
Slack off
Else
Work
If important work needs doing = true
work very hard for short intense bursts.

Go home at 4PM thinking I no longer like my career at this time.

Spend the evenings doing something I enjoy and may make me rich, in this case writing books.

Work is boring:
Walk in, sling keys in the office, log on to computers, browse the net for a bit before giving in and eventually doing some work.

Cops is more interesting:
Kit up at my locker, grab a radio battery from the post room, check the pigeon hole as I pass. Grab my gas from the gas locker, sign it out in the book. Find a computer, log on, check e-mail, file the usual crap in the "For Info" folder, do anything that needs doing about the others. Open up the intranet and have a scan of who's been locked up by who, and who's wanted for what. Have a bit of banter with the shift as they arrive, and wait for briefing. Find out who I'm teamed up with, and what vehicle we're in, then wait to get given a job.

Turn laptop and monitor on
Pop to the kitchen to make a coffee
 
Mine is
7:30 - wake up
8:15ish - leave, drive/walk/bike to work
8:30 - fire up the Dell
8:31 - get a tea from the machine
8:32 until I leave off - look busy whilst waiting ages for my 1G phone connection to load OCUK or Pistonheads pages and see what's happening.
 
6:30 - wake up
6:40 - get up :p straight into shower
I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey-almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. etc.
7:20 leave house
7:40 arrive @ work, load desktop, have breakfast.
 
Get out of car.

Tread through quagmire that is our car park.

Check out what car my boss is driving today (Porsche Panamara today).

Swipe through a couple of security doors.

Change shoes. Adjust Shirt. Remove outer coat.

Remember i've got to go to the manufacturing morning meeting...remove shoes, put on safety boots, hi vis, lid and specs.

Go through factory to manufacturing office.

Find out what nightshift managed to break.

Formulate plan to fix broken stuffs.

Go back to desk.

Remove safety gear and put on office shoes.

Complete calcs on broken stuff.

Call factory supervisors and tell them how to fix broken stuff.

Read emails.

Put on outdoor shoes and go for lunch...

Come back from lunch, put on indoor shoes and finally start to do my own work.
