When are you going fully electric?

Mg granny charger is 10A only. I'm sure all manufacturer granny chargers are.
For the sole reason as not to stress the wiring as it will be drawing 10A for hours.

Some granny chargers have a toggle mode to select 13A and the one linked allows up to 13A. So it is possible to force 13A (AKA burn the house down mode) ;)

I bought a Teison switchable granny charger that allows 6A/8A/10A and 13A. When I was trickle charging my I-Pace off the Solar I left it at 8A or 10A max. I read one review on Amazon that gave one star because it melted their extension lead (showed images). I can guarantee that muppet had it set to 13A and plugged in to some cheap ass B&Q extension lead.

To be fair some modern electric installations will be fine for short periods, but as noted it is a risk and should be kept to 10A max which gives 2.3kWh charging.

Ah yes Go is now 5 hours at 8.5p - not bad at all.
As long as your mileage/charging is enough to counteract the higher day rate ;) although, that said, I just checked the rates in my area and it seems the day rate is barely any higher at the moment. SVR is 23.23p/kWh, while the GO rates are 24.54p/kWh in the day and 8.5p/kWh overnight - at these figures I'd only need to do 1000miles worth of charging overnight (with no other load shifting) to break even.

If I compare GO to the average rate I'm currently managing on Agile (13.2p/kWh), I'd have to do 26,320mi worth of charging on the night rate to break even

Would you recommend a granny charger like this?
I like the idea of the delayed timer

Or would you go with something like this? - https://ev-extras.com/products/e-v-...10128&pr_ref_pid=4498605375628&pr_seq=uniform

These guys seem to be more on the ball with safety regulations and especially saying you should be charging at 10A.
See if your MG does indeed come with one, but I'll be surprised if it does. Like I said, I'd avoid Chinesium brands where you have zero come back if your house burns down. I'm not saying Masterplug is the best brand in the world, but the fact it's bought from Screwfix should give some "UK" backing/security.

I always charge at 10amp. The Masterplug has a little screen you can monitor if you so chose; but it really is set and forget with the Smart BG plug I linked.

Already ordered the plug socket and I'll buy the Masterplug if needed.
I've also bought a proper EV extension cable from a place called Tough Leads because I have a plan.
Halfords sell the same lead but twice as much.

can't he set the AC charging rate in the MG too, to avoid any potential limitations on the house system/granny lead.
Not sure - probably not - but I'd avoid any "car" settings as it would get in the way when trying to rapid charge/on a journey etc. Best to get the home comfortable/repeatable IMHO.

My Polestar will override any charge amperage settings when it’s on DC, but I have fallen foul over having the low granny setting at 6 amps when plugged into a 32 amp charger and being very disappointed in the morning…

Picking up a tesla model 3 tomorrow, sad to see my current ICE care going but hey ho! My home charger has now been moved over to my name (was previous owners) so that's ready to go. My only slightly concern is the charger is in my garage rather than outside, so i will have to run the cable underneath the garage door at night which will involve leaving my garage door a tiny bit open. Garage door is electric so i can't see someone breaking in however i don't want the garage getting soaked in bad weather.
Following the cable it comes from the meter box outside the house, along the wall outside and then in where the charger currently resides. I have no idea why they didn't mount it on the side of the house. Will see how i get on but may end up having to pay for someone to move it to the other side of the wall.

I would always avoid any charger limits within the car UI. Had my I-Pace refuse to rapid charge once and it took 25 minutes before I realised the restricted hours were set. How the hell JLR didn’t think that DC should override such restrictions is inconceivable.

If you have a smart charging unit, or granny lead that can set such things, always use those. It means when you are taking a longer trip the only thing you need to remember is the max SoC percentage.

I have Octopus Intelligent Go and Octopus's app is not compatible with my charger (Ohme Home Pro) yet and it simply opens the Ohme app instead. I still get the cheap rate from 23.30-05.30 plus cheap charging periods outside those hours as well. I have had the car charged to 80% by 22.30 on a couple of times when there has been extra cheap sessions. I don't know how it all works and it seems a bit like sourcery to me but it just works.

Anyone with a 2018 onwards Nissan Leaf, I discovered a potential problem yesterday when searching for something on the internet. I came across a video showing that the drivers side wiper has it's water run down the side of the windscreen and straight into the cup on top of the suspension strut causing corrosion to the bolt/nut and to of the strut. This can be cured by purchasing a pair of strut covers (strangely enough they are for a VW) which I ordered last night. I haven't checked my struts yet, hopefully they won't be too bad as the car is only three years old and was garaged by the previous owner. You can watch the video here.
That's all Leafs, not just 2018 onwards. I've had the top mounts covers by 3d printed covers for about 8 years. Was a strange oversight by Nissan they I'm surprised they've not fixed.

Guess it depends on the car, Tesla's as smart enough to know to apply the schedule where set and ignore everywhere else.

Supports multiple schedules now.
