When are you going fully electric?

Any thoughts on the Kia Niro?

Seems quite nice for a relatively cheap small car, good internal space for size, of course being an EV is priced on the high side, I went to the local launch, not driven yet, that happens next week.

They reckon deliveries will happen in September.

My Genesis Personal assistant also got in touch and they also reckon I could have a GV70e by Christmas, seems I'm going to have an abundance of vehicles arriving at the same time, was always going to happen eh :D we'll see who is telling the truth over the coming months.

Child labour has got them through the silicone shortage then :D

Thanks. The MOT on my car is due early September so I want a replacement before then.
Assume you mean the old model then as its optimistic to want to order the new one now and get it in September if you are not already in the queue I'd have thought.

All accounts on the older model were quite good, second most popular EV in the UK, so doubt its that bad

Saw my first cupra born on the road today as I sped past burning the plant. Early Nov my current delivery date, but at least booked a smart meter today.

Love the look of the Born. The Mrs has the ID.3 but I prefer the styling/interior of the Cuprammonium much more sporty.

However on going to the dealer to persuade her to ditch her ID.3 Max edition (we can get £2.5k more than we paid for it), however, on spending one up and the dealer saying the options we wanted to have parity with her Max would be quite lengthy delivery, and not even sure if he could get the pan roof as the system wasn’t showing that at the time (58kw v3) and no travel assist either.. but it was tempting although the Mrs doesn’t mind the softer look of the id.3, I much prefer the edgier born.

The closest equivalent Born is a v3 with most options, so £41k..

I see on obd11 forums it might be possible to code in travel assist to a point, but without capacitive sensed wheel it doesn’t quite work well.

The id.3 max was £39k list, and at the time we did a deal at £35900 inc all contributions (v3 + dealer).. still, the main thing is the id.3 is that safer/more neutral design, the born is much more masculine imo and suits me better, but it’s not my car.

You can’t order an id.3 max at the moment due tomchip shortage, so the born is about as close as you can get, but honestly, spending over £40k now, Id look at an Ioniq 5 or Tesla m3

First time charging the Pug after a 40 mile round trip to IKEA. Absolutely love this car - but equally loved jumping into my E43 afterwards. Made it feel like a race car lol!

Morrisons charger experience not great, it had no instructions, so I just signed up to the logos on the machine and 2nd time lucky I was greeted with a 'faulted' screen :(

Anyway decided to use gaffa and improvise.

how much more expensive is the Born ? - doesn't id3 max have desirable DCC/adaptive-suspension , not cheap on a born I imagine
£790 option. Born V2 pre April price increase (£2.5k) was £34,135 basic no options, but pretty well specced.

Look better than id3. Interior better and handle better as lower. But also cheaper (still are I think ) and more available (ish)

Just considering you can only get an ID.3 life (entry level) the Born wins on also being able to offer higher trim levels in the UK.

I also share the opinion the born is nicer in most ways, but some people still prefer VW and the styling is very neutral.

I'm amazed how many Borns are available at dealers with immediate delivery, none have any decent options, but if you just want a v2 or v3, you can beat the waiting list.

More than a month into Tesla ownership and all going great. Really feels like I’m driving the future of cars. Dad’s first time in one yesterday. He got to experience the acceleration. Involuntary gasp and swearing. Couldn’t believe the car was even remotely in control accelerating like that. For those only used to ICEs then I can understand that. Even cars that accelerate nearly half as quick can feel unsettled and like they are going to chuck you off the road at any moment.
