When are you going fully electric?

Does anyone have any real world experience with Jaguar I Pace?

Are they all similar specs?

I've seen two I quite like on Cazoo. Similar ages, one is 40K miles and all black with red leather seats (I really like this!) or grey with black interior, smaller wheels and 23K. The grey one is actually a bit cheaper.

Yes. Great cars and also happen to be an EV

There's a few trim levels - S, SE and HSE are the ones that govern the options.

S is very basic and SE is quite nice, HSE has lots of extras that some may want and others might not.

Also toying with the idea of used I-pace when hand back my lease. Only thing that puts me off if JLR poor reliability record?

I've had my My21 HSE i-Pace now for about 6 weeks, its brilliant, everything works great, the Pivi Pro system is a massive improvement over the older system I had in my XF and wireless Carplay has been more reliable than in my BMWs. Its not the most efficient EV but I'm seeing 2.6-2.8 miles per KW most of which is around town and local mainly. On the motorway I'm seeing about 3 or a bit more which gives me a range of 250ish miles that is plenty for me. Will do a longer distance at the end of May to Manchester so will need to charge away from home, but having tested fast charging i know that all works.

The deal I got was very good, including 2 year warranty, next service free, 2 years road side and a free charger.

But they aren't reliant on rubbish battery technology
There's a reason why no-one but you will be ordering a hydrogen powered car for their next vehicle:

If you move to China the story sounds more rose tinted. Ultimately though it's a distraction from improved battery architecture - made possible via the evolution of current EV's.

You don't have to like the current battery technology....but it works...and it keeps on getting better. Quite happy for you to prove me wrong...but you might struggle on that one.

Some interesting charging news, it appears that Arnold Clarke are going to be installing 560+ chargers across their locations, starting soon, with 6-8 per location. Bad news is you'll need to use an app, good news is they are Kempower units.

That is interesting, and getting it all in by the end of the year (per their press release) is ambitious. Kempower units are great and I guess it is what enables them to deploy units into their existing sites with such fast roll out, presumably without the need for significant power supply upgrades.

I'm not so bothered by an app, as long as it works.

Just coming to the end of my lease, it's been a mixed bag:

12V battery failure is common - leaves the car dead on the drive but usually fixed with Jag coming out and updating software.

Heater failure - mine was off the road for 3 months with this due to parts not being available.

Software is pretty awful on the pre-facelift, slow, flakey UI, auto wipers suck, nav is rubbish but can just use Android auto.

Drives really nicely for a heavy EV, interior is really well put together, standard stereo was more than good enough.

Efficiency/range isn't all amazing but not bad. About 200 miles in winter and 230 in summer for me.

Charging is an issue when away from home, max 100kW bur in reality that's rarely achieved.

Just noticed quite a few BP and Shell chargers that I know exist aren't showing up on zap map... does anyone know if there is a story behind this or it's just them being a bit useless?

Apologies as not helpful, but maybe zapmap requires people to use them and Shell (no idea about bp) charge far too much.

Gonna ditch the 2015 hybrid X5.

Either a Tesla Y or Mach E Mustang, test drove the Tesla it was what I expected as bro has a model 3 so I'm used to it. Will test drive the ford next week.

Love the sentry mode on the tesla and that screen I don't think ford can touch it.

Lets see tho..

I got the same deal. Was the last day of the offer yesterday and we went to look at a couple of I Pace. Really liked it so placed an order. Picking up week Friday.

Only downside was the only one in my price range that I liked with the Performance seats has the touch duo screen. Hoping I can get away with using android auto if the car UI is as bad as people say!

I didn't know you could get it without the touch duo screen. What's between the bottom dials? If it's physical climate buttons I might actually prefer this. The lower touchscreen is a mess in terms of UI design, it basically just dupliciates what's on the main screen. Only thing I use it for is for adjusting climate controls.

The update to touch duo is the Pivi pro that is being rolled out on all the new models. The bottom screen then just controls the seat functions I think, so can't get stuff like music track on it as you could with the duo but otherwise it's a big upgrade.

The offer renews every quarter lol, first time I got tempted by it was at least a year ago and it hasn't really changed since. Still can't quite convince wife to go full EV family though :(

I think mine probably would eventually, but has only just got used to driving an auto - witchcraft!

We've still got the silly Japanese cars so won't be pure EV.

the wife and I are going to test drive one on Sunday. still not sure what we will do yet, replace our large car, or perhaps replace the local run about but either way if I have my way our next cars will be electric. (none of that "self charging" nonsense either )

my heart says HSE trim level....my head says SE is fine.
if I could find an SE well priced with a panoramic roof , I would be made up (bonus points if electric blue or red in colour with white leather interior..... so I am not too fussy ;)
