When are you going fully electric?

Did you even watch the video.. Literally ran through the city centres of both before getting on the highway.
**** me I give up posting to this place.
I personally don’t think Tesla’s camera only approach is ever going to be good enough to trust. I’ve seen how poor it is first hand at auto parking.

Intel’s MobilEye is still the most impressive self drive I’ve seen. This video for example. I’d love to see Tesla do that.

Wondering when VAG will be delivering their €25k cars?

They seem reasonably confident of several models being available from the various brands, but I do wonder what or where they'll cut back, I mean the ID.3 interior wasn't/isn't great so what is an ID2/1 going to be like? Pack size will also be interesting, will they focus on the low mileage users with a smaller 20-25kWh pack that will do 100 miles, which is over a weeks total distance covered for a lot of people.
Couldn't you get a brand new pre-reg'd leaf for that sort of money than that once upon a time?

Sure that was back in the day when you could get a Fiesta for A LOT less.

Reckon 40kWh is the sweetspot for that price. The Fiat 500e is just under £30k with 25kWh so there's still a way to go it looks to get there though it looks like...

People say some dumb stuff in here.
6 hrs driving... ZERO HUMAN TAKE OVERS through San Fran and Hollywood.
It is coming!
... and (self preservation) recent fsd 10.69.25.2 versus cyclist - we don't have segregated cylist paths in UK like they do in California.

or other misc objects

Those city centre roads look amazing, wish we had similarly wide, smooth, straight and well painted in the UK.

Shows smaller roads, there are plenty of dirt unmarked road examples out there too. It's pretty impressive given how challenging the technical problem is. Also far from perfect, but is improving at a fair pace.

Perfect sunny day, barely any other traffic, still much wider roads for most of it. I wish it were like that around here!

I predict by the time cars are at the point of bettering human drivers, we’ll have moved on to flying options with military level guidance systems.

To be honest I believe from everything I have seen that in most situations driverless solutions already outperform drivers the vast majority of the time.
Most drivers fail within seconds to follow one or both of the following :
1) Maximum Speed or 2) safe distances

I guess it depends if you think following the rules are important or not. If your only measure is car handling then a human is far superior.

Seen? Where. The problem with auto driving is the random events that happen that cause accidents

The problem for me is that the technology doesn't seem to be reliable yet. I have speed limit display in my car which uses a camera to tell me the speed limit. Presumably the same sort of technology which an autonomous driving system would use to determine the speed limit.

It frequently displays the wrong speed limit - often a number far higher than it should and often a number which is higher than any speed limit in the UK.

Isn’t the point that if you use the appropriate following distance and speed (which human drivers fail at spectacularly on the daily) then those ‘random’ events become a non issue.

No. Cause a dog running out or someone opening a door cannot be forseen

Mate it’s can’t even go around a roundabout in this country yet. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves

That’s just BMWs crappy system to be fair. Their cruise isn’t great IME. Tesla system can see traffic light colours and the road markings. So signs are no issues
