When are you going fully electric?

That's a shame, because I've still got the Leaf and expect I'll be driving it more than the Q8. It's a more appropriate car for the majority of my daily use. I don't need a 335bhp 4x4 to do the school run. In fact, in the tight little school car park, it's a real hindrance.

Luckily, I still really like driving the Leaf, and it's specced higher than the Audi.
You are doing it wrong - SUV School run 101
  • Arrive late and stop whereever you like, blocking everyone else
  • Arrive early and park across 3 bays, whilst you wait for child

Anyone had problems getting Intelligent Octopus set up? I've tried linking my Audi account with Octopus in the Octopus app, but every time I click complete the app crashes.

Facts. One of my kids goes to a nursery attached to a private school, the entitlement is incredible.

It also crashed for me using my Samsung s22u, so could be Android or Samsung related.. I used my iPad in the end, that worked first time...

I've tried on another android device and same result. Looks like it's an issue with their android app. Unfortunately, I've not got a spare apple device to set it up on.

I've just got back from doing a mini road trip around Belgium in my Model 3 SR. I didn't bother doing any planning from the EV perspective and it ended up being just under 600 miles on the public charging network.

I'd definitely put driving an EV in northern/central Europe in the 'don't worry about it box'. Most of the public car parks had ample AC chargers (some towns/city centres had chargers on significant numbers of street bays too) and tons of rapids all over the motorways. Both ends of the Euro Tunnel for when waiting for the train and essential duty free shopping.

The biggest car related issue was was deciding what beer to put in the fridge first when I was unloading the boot.

still time for Goodwood this w/e ? planning a route with some nice Italian passes/dolomites will be fun

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has officially debuted, making its world premiere at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s N’s first high-performance electrified model, but it won’t be its last. Hyundai says the hot Ioniq 5 is N’s “first step” in its electrification strategy, with future EVs to follow from the sub-brand.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N features two electric motors. The total output for the model is 600 bhp (448 kilowatts) and 545 pound-feet (740 Newton-metres) of torque, which could slightly change before production commences. That increases to 641 bhp (478 kW) and 567 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque with the N Grin Boost function engaged, which lasts for 10 seconds.
wonder if they rejig the traction control for faster response with increased power - thought it was renown for wheel scrubbing.

I'm going tomorrow. :) The Ioniq 6 N thing appeared to stuff it into the hay bails up the hill today. Whoops!

Sod the Ioniq stuff, will there be a Lotus Eletre there :D

The reviews are coming out and I really like it (can debate forever about whether it's a real Lotus or not but hey)

Also cheaper than a Volvo EX90 from the same parent company, even though it is 800V based and all those LIDAR sensors. Not sure what is going on there lol

The Caterham and the new Elise I’ll head to aswell, dunno if Julian Thomson will be around that one but great to see the usual mix they have.

Electre is lovely inside, I was in the front of it at fully charged fiddling about with it, there were a couple of pensioners checking out the rear, I accidentally hit the stereo on, it was of course set to max, it took me a bout 2mins to figure out how to turn it off, they weren't impressed in the back :D

I'm loving that Ioniq 5, has fake engine note, rev counter, simulated gears might actually make an EV interactive and fun beyong the how many mpkw game, won't be suffering with a lack of power either.

Currently looking at a model Y and cross shopping with a Mustang Mach E.

interested in hearing the experiences of others who were shopping in this segment and what they found.

Not a fan of the BMW i4 , AudiskodaID4 or Merecedes EQA/EQC. I'm also not taken with the idea of the ipace or the polestar. I like the mustang, like it comes in actual colours, like it has craplay, but the telsa is faster and has more fun gimmicks like sentry mode and has everything apart from the pointless full self driving stuff included in the price.

Am I mad for having got my shortlist down to just the Model Y and Mustang ?
You haven't really said why you don't like the other cars so it's hard to say. They also all come in actual colours and have carplay so you haven't really given a good reason to consider the Mustang over those haha

What about the Kia EV6/Hyundai Ioniq 5?

If you will do loads of long trips needing en route charging get the Tesla, otherwise just buy whichever you like best.
