When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Imagine how many more gpus AMD might have sold if they had released the 6700 at the 6600xt price point earlier. It would certainly have reviewed better than the 6600xt, https://youtu.be/_tDYu5sBtFs?t=1522
My understanding is that this 6700 gpu die was sold in a mining card before it was sold in a desktop release to gamers, https://videocardz.com/newz/another...eon-rx-6700m-specs-2304-cores-and-10gb-memory
Yes, I'm a fan of AMD hardware but even I ended up buying an Nvidia card, that's how bad their pricing was

I've had the exact same issue, ordered some second hand brakes from ebay shipping from Germany, yet UK customs charged me twice for the same package because it came in two boxes, in short they got £400 out of me for second hand goods and when attempting to dispute it, either pay or no delivery. So yeah Brexit has caused nothing but issues and a huge cost increase generally.

Why don't you just grab the new Brexit opportunities?

yeah 6900 XT from £749 is more like it, at least AMD is starting to be realistic now and making genuine effort to sell stock off for a price it always should have been

Nvidia is just lowering already vastly inflated MSRP products really, a token gesture at best

When all the retailers were selling you these cards at almost £2000 it invoked some energy from consumers. Now they cant sell them fast enough - where is that same energy ? Think twice before purchasing 2 year old tech still over MSRP.

Supply and demand. Had little to do with actual BOM costs which are probably way lower than prices even now.

It's funny how people were apologising for AMD and Nvidia way back now.

Much smaller chips than Nvidia too, gives them a lot more leeway.
Around 600mm² versus 500mm², but surely Nvidia's main reason for going with Samsung was price?

Yes, later as TSMC's 7nm wafers became ever more in demand and bidding wars ensued being on Samsung's 8nm looked like very good move logistically but originally reason was all about cost.

Point being the actual cost per die should be similar. Possible other components like the GDDR6X and that Navi 21 only being 256 bit memory bus must make a 6900 XT cheaper to produce than a 3090.

Seriously ? The Euro is down even more against the dollar than the GBP is ! How is that caused by Brexit ? The actual story is that the dollar is surging, for various reasons. Whether or not you can get cheap imports from the USA has fluctuated continously over the last 30 years & will continue to do so - regardless of Brexit or the economic outlook in the Eurozone.

While I really sympathise with you having to suffer that arbitrary incompetance, that's due to dysfunctional bureaucracy - something that far predated Brexit & will far outlive it.

I'm gona guess none due to lack of wafers. Should they have bid for more? Lets face it, we'd all be rich if we could have anticipated the mining craze in advance.

They found the wafers to make the 6600xt, 6600, 6500xt and 6400 before they made the 6700 available to gamers at a reasonable price. They found the wafers to make 6700 production for miners before they sold them to gamers at a reasonable price. The 6700 was sold to miners before the 6500xt and 6400 production was sold to gamers

Where do you get your evidence to back this up?

It clearly shows a release date of Nov. 2021 for the 6700 mining card (Nav 22), before the 6700, 6500xt and 6400 were 2022 releases to gamers.

I didn't spot this so thanks. Most mining enthusiasts all bought up the 6600/XT's so this must have been a commercial direct only thing. Only reason I would think the 6700 isnt great is because it cost more and was not out of the box as efficient as the 6600's. Suppose its a different ball game with custom BIOS' and access to this SKU, no wonder the farms were loving it.

There was some doubt on how valid the GPU oversupply was. According to HUBs latest video, Nvidia have put out an official (temporary) price cut, so there is some concern on their side about the stock of high end cards available.
