When "to 3D"

I took the plunge, though more for the 2D quality. Been demoing the 46D8000 and 50" VT30 recently at various places with some of my 2D and 3D BluRays. Was blown away by the VT30 and got one, so as someone says, I will view 3D as a bonus.

Though my 40" LCD is good, the combination of amazing PQ + increased screen size was too much!

Not going to invest in 3d just yet. Will maybe buy a 3d projector next year. Quite happy with my 2d projector right now.

I sold a well looked after Panasonic AX100 for £250 to a friend.
Two days ago I just ordered a gaming specific projector that was shown at E3 this year. Produced by Optoma it is their latest in the series of "Gamer Time" models.

The GT750XL
This is their first full 720p HDMI 1.4 3D Ready projector which has the 3DXL adapter built in. It supports all major 3D formats and has a unique "Short Throw" lense. It is very bright in lumens not needing a fully darkened room and will produce massive images at a small distance. (120" from only 6FT)

The benefit of this is that for games like Kinect/Move etc where you cant have the projector behind you (obvious shadows) the projector can be in front of you. Furthermore it is Nvidia 3D ready or will support 2D 120HZ.

This weekend I will be enjoying GOW3 in 3D on a 120" screen at the small cost of £600.
Yes £600 including one pair of 3D RF not infared glasses so these do not loose the signal or rely on line of sight. (XL version has new RF transmitter) however the projector also works with DLP link 3D glasses.

Im glad I didnt drop 2K on a 50" or 60" 3DTV as really with 3D the image size has a LOT to do with how good the 3D works.
Additionally being DLP technology it does not suffer from "Crosstalk" like many LED TVs and some of the Plasma models.

Check it out Optoma GT750XL
Loads of even console games are coming in 3D and I personally cant wait to relive "Halo Anniversary in 3D" on this size of screen.
Blu Rays are also continuing to appear, the format is far from dead or a gimmick concept. Industries have invested too much to drop it.

Thats the great falacy at the minute though most people in the UK still don't watch significant quantities of HD yet the TV
makers are already trying to move us all onto 3D something which is even further down the pipeline for the average TV user.

If I didn't have a usenet account then i'd not watch any HD.
