when you are typing and make a mistake

I delete everything after the word and re-type it again, keeps me in the flow of what I was typing. Unless of course, I don't notice until i've written a mahoosive document and it's right at the start, i'll just fix that, but I do delete full sentences at times.

another vote for D. since i use google chrome's legendary spellchecker this is usually what happens

- misspell word
- look at suggestions
- discover the word im trying to spell isnt there
- change spelling slightly in the hope that it'll be correct this time
- discover im still wrong
- look for correct spelling
- the ****ing thing still isnt there
- make my third attempt to spell this god forsaken word correctly
- third attempt to spell the damned word is still wrong
- look spelling up again
- discover i've now spelt the word correctly, but it doesnt have the word with the tense i am using in its dictionary
- rage
- attempt to add the word to its dictionary
- find that i cant add the word to its dictionary
- rage some more

this made me lol

i can live with bad spelling

It varies for me, often it's just a case of deleting the word as I tend to notice fairly quickly when I'm typing that I've made a mistake but if it's in a long sentence I might either use the arrow keys to navigate or the mouse - it depends on whether the mistake lines up nicely enough to suggest that arrow keys are quicker or whether I should just use the mouse. Occasionally I'll simply delete all the way back to the error if I'm not in a hurry and start again while trying to make the sentence flow better.

the i guess your instant messaging isn't so instant?

What? Get with the times!

Chrome has a built in spell check that works great for my most common mistakes and so does my IM client, Pidgin, which supports all my needed IM protocols including the one I have to use at work.

We just have to right click on the error and select the correction from the top of the list. YOU'RE the one that's retyping entire words...

You think he was typing out his replies in Word or something?

d) Backspace for short word, arrows for long word, hold down ctrl to skip past words. Correct issue then press end to get back to where I was. Too much effort using the mouse when typing.

This.

Press escape,
Then b,
Then hit c then w,
Then type the correction,
Then hit escape,
Then A,
Then continue typing

But also this (and other variants thereof)

If it's only a few words then I backspace all the way back to the error.

If it's quite a far way back then I'll use cursor or arrows keys to get back to it. This is very very rare however, I normally spot errors straight away and just backspace through them :D

I delete the entire page, have myself flogged until my sweet, sweet blood drips onto my keyboard and then I write the entire thing again.

IN LATIN.

I error correct automatically and I just don't realise it anymore. Automatically backspace and correct in a few ms if I'm on a roll, I know if I've made an error just by the positioning of my fingers at pressing based on what I intend to select.

Hard to explain. Comes with 17 years of typing from the age of 5.

None of the above.

Type everything I wanted to say before I forget what I wanted to say in the first place, then re-read it before posting.
Most errors are underlined so I touch the screen over the offending word and choose the correct one from the list of suggestions.
If I have managed a grammatical faux pas, then I just tap the screen over the word, choose select and retype what was supposed to be there!
Also a bit of extra tapping to add the odd sentence here and there.. like this one. :)
