My local farm has had to cull all their Turkeys, and I have no idea where else to get one...

Where do you all get your Turkeys?

after they said this morning that half the free range had been culled, and that many farmers are contemplating having those remaining, killed prematurely, and frozen,
it seems questionable if many of the regular outlets (bought our kapon in aldi last year) will have stock.

It's curious that turkey prices the majors are showing are not significantly inflated vesus last year (yet), equally that christmas food already on sale has not inflated, despite the basics rocketting.

A 5kg ham for me.

May get a tiny amount of turkey for my mum who's coming to see us but it tastes godawful to me.

I'm working Christmas day and Boxing day, so we're having hunk of lamb (haven't decided on leg or shoulder yet) on Christmas Eve instead.

Shoulder, fat side up, and low and slow, covered also.

The fat renders through and gives it a superior taste and texture.

It's also usually cheaper.

They can’t guarantee anything if the flock gets culled due to bird flu, the best you’ll get is ‘sorry, due to bird flu we were unable to supply your bird, merry Christmas.’

Turkey? what is this America?

Turkey also cook it, put it in the fridge and then smell it... fowl like dog doodoo or something has died.

Chicken for me thanks, I'd rather eat a chicken nugget or a chicken burger with my Crimbo dinner if I had too
