Its just the flatness, open fields with very little breaks between. I find it quite mentally off putting.
Saw thread title, wondered how many posts it would be before moonman posted that photo.

I live in a valley, and every time I go somewhere flat, I find it slightly weird.
Hungary was just spooky...
There's definitely some.weird stuff goes on around Boscastle and Tintagel especially during the main paigan festivalsNo, they're more a Wicker Man-esque lot down there
At least I didn't mention I am vegan . I do watch a few vids at Portrush tbfmaybe now you'll take the hint
Definitely too young to have seen the original wicker-manperson
Cornwall, or Lake District, both subjected to modifying your lifestyle during tourist season I imagine ... abroad, used to have to turn up at the beach (or supermarket/shopping centre) early morning to avoid crowds.
I'd throw in Peak District vicinity ? - Sheffield , for starters doubt you'd be renting for £800 in cornwall/lakedistrict
I find this hard to believe, Nicola Sturgeon tells me Scotland is the Promised Land and it's only us Morlock's down south that suffer from racism. How Scottish is your accent? Because there's a level of racism up here against the English.

As someone who frequented Polzeath a lot this seems very strange. Never heard of £1 parking in all my years of going. Just spoken to a friend in Wadebridge who says they haven't either. You always seem to get the bargains.Pretty much exactly this ,in summer I turn up at polzeath beach car park before 10 am and buy a block of just park tickets for the summer (just over £1) Newquay and St Ives is just constant carnage so stopped going as much
Shop before work in Tesco's wadebridge
Only the local pub and Camel trail car park gets busy by me and can always find solitude

Probably still less xenophobic than the Cornish.
