I'm sure there are people who do use their old Xbox games on the 360, but what percentage do you think they are? I've never been inclined to, and I never will use a previous generation game on a next-gen console!
The only game I've considered this with has been MGS on the PS2...

You do make a good point there. I've owned a PS2 since its UK launch date and I don't think I've put a single original Playstation game (and I have a lot of them) in it since I first got it and wanted to see how it improved the graphics. Even if I was to buy a PS3 I probably wouldn't sell my PS2 because it wouldn't be worth much and I still have the original Playstation lying around somewhere, so backwards compatibility is a non issue now I think.
I do play Halo 2 on my Xbox 360, I like the multiplayer.
I only recently bought a 360, I think it's the best choice for a console right now. Great graphics, sound, picture and Xbox Live is really nice. I bought mine because I wanted to play Dead Rising, but there are so many other great titles coming out this month.
The Wii I think looks a bit gimmicky right now, I wouldn't want to invest in one without seeing how it does to begin with (I've owned all of Nintendo's systems in the past though).
On the PS3 the only game I really want one for is MGS4, so whether that eventually gets an Xbox release who knows. As someone else said though, the recent announcement of further shortages might push the European release date back again.
