Which console to get?

Neither.

Old games always seem like a good idea until you load it up and then cry "Im sure it used to have better graphics than this!"

Retro doesnt equal cool.

I gather you're a snes fanboy then ;) i liked both consoles but the mega drive had the better games imo, i used to love road rash/golden axe/streets of rage/sonic(though super mario world is better than any sonic) toe jam & earl etc...the list is endless :D

EDIT: Damn ninja edit Werewolf

I just bought a boxed mega drive/master system and snes myself :D

I actually had a Megadrive as well as the Snes for a while but ended up getting rid of it as it didn't have many games i liked at the time ;) (and quite a few of the cross platform ones were better on the SNES).

Beautiful console.

hmmmm this is a tough choice lol

the snes is awesome, i've very nearly bought one for mario kart, super mario world, street fighter II, star fox etc etc

but the nes is equally as awesome (and more dated). i just can't play super mario bro's on anythin else lol you need the old skool controller. plus quality games like solar jetman, probotector etc

Get both and be happy :) lol i picked up a NES, fully boxed and even including hte original warranty card for £20 off egay with a few games (capt' hook LOL!) not too long back

Am i right in thinking that the SNES and the NES use the same power supply and connection for the tv cable? (the one that has yellow, white and red connector on the end)

the nes doesnt, that just has a standard yellow and white phono connector on the console it self, but i believe the snes, N64 and gamecube all use the same AV cable???

someone please correct me if im wrong :)

IIRC the NES SNES and N64 could all use the same composite out connections.
The SNES and N64 used the same connection for stereo out.

The SNES is the best console ever made, so that, obviously.

Neither.

Falsehood.

Super Mario World still looks good now, as do a fair few other SNES games, and is still one of the best 2d games ever made. The NES, yes, does look quite dated these days, but the SNES somehow still manages to look pretty damn good really.

Ive gone behind a lot of peoples back and got a NES then i will get a SNES when i get paid at the end of the month.

The reason i bought it was it looked in fantastic condition and I managed to get it for 31 notes inc p+p.

This is it here...

(Link removed by me so no one kicks off)

Anyways I got....

You are bidding on a NES console, with Megaman 2, Kung Fu & Urban Champion!

Also included is the AC power adapter, TV lead, two controllers and a spare brand new connector.

The console has been cleaned inside, the connectors have also been cleaned so it works like new. The 3 game connectors have also been cleaned, so everything works perfectly.

I'm tempted to go up my parent's loft to get out my SNES and N64. And my Dreamcast from under my bro's bed. :D

I have to say, the SNES is the only console I think has aged particularly well, as Weebull said. Zelda and Mario are two shining examples of quality 16bit 2D graphics.

Well im a bit worried about the NES ive just bought because he said he's cleaned inisde the console so I dont know if thats voided the warrenty?

And ill defo be getting a SNES ive already got my eye on one that finishes in the next couple of days with no games! then i can build the collection i want!
