My daughter seems to be interested in playing the odd game and rather than her playing random flash games would rather she played something which offered a more solid idea of "gaming".
Dont get me wrong, this is not instead of going and playing outside but 15 minutes here and there will not cause any harm and we likely all enjoyed playing games as children so I see no reason to deprive mine of that right
I have a Wii but to be honest, call it fanboism if you will, would rather she played on the PC and got used to proper keyboard and mouse controls.
She enjoys watching me playing Portal 2 although to be honest, trying to explain that to a 5 year old is not that easy (Not that I have tried in any great detail as I end up confusing myself) - lol
I tried a demo of Beep off of Desura which she liked but the Map selection screen is a little fiddly for a youngster.
A platformer would be good with some logick skills required, either keyboard controlled or keyboard and mouse would be fine.
Many Thanks.
