Which game would you defend to the death?

Deus Ex. best game ever. Not often you have to defend it though apart from those late to the party (i.e. getting to it 10 years late) which is fair enough as theres a bit of a graphical barrier at that point among other things.

FF8 always gets treated as a ginger stepchild. i love it. My favourite in the series. Will happily defend it for days.

Anachronox. Never got much love. it wasnt a looker but it was a fabulous game and one i could talk for hours about. too bad i cant get it running on w7 :(.

Pretty much all other games have enough of a following or were recieved well enough to defend themselves (deus ex does this but its the best game ever and we cant have people being mean about it now can we...).

Resident Evil 4.

It IS the single best game in creation, universally praised on release, it is a flawless example of video gaming perfection.

If you dissagree you are wrong, end of story, there is no debate to be had.

Fallout 1 & 2, Thief 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment, Deus Ex, Grim Fandango, Zelda OoT, MGS1 & 3, loads more... too many, so I don't bother ;)

HL2 sometimes you find the odd person who doesn't appreciate its awesomeness and then i must defend it to there death, that o there acceptance that it is the greatest game to exist, whichever comes first

I like discussing games with people, and i will generally respect peoples opinion on games so long as they give it a chance, but occasionally when somebody criticizes a game, i feel that i just have to defend it.

For example, i really liked Fallout NV, but i can understand if someone else just doesn't like it, same with Crysis 2. I loved it, but i understand how some people might be disappointed. That is up to them. However, occasionally i find that i can't accept it with games and have to defend it ad i just van't understand how someone wouldn't like it.

What games do you feel this way about?
What game would you defend against any criticism?

Mine would have to be Bioshock. I know there is not much love for it on here for some reason. But i think it is probably my favourite game ever, and i do not get how someone couldn't like it:)

cheers
Halo (not all though) and the xbox kingdom under fire titles. KUF:Heroes was probably the best game ever. Now though I've recently got into League of Legends and think that would get the same treatment. Pretty in depth, RPG deathmatch with tons of characters and variety? Almost a perfect game in my eyes.

Anyone remember a game called Anachronox. Got slated a fair bit but was an absolute gem of a game, i absolutely loved it.

Another would be Morrowind and Oblivion, both had there shortcomings but both amazing games in there own way! :D

A mate of mine told me he didn't like Mass Effect because there was too much talking!!:mad::mad:

I've heard worse, a guy I used to play EVE with said he couldn't stand Mass Effect because the lifts annoyed the hell out of him.....

How silly.............

ARMA 2.

For me this represents the pinnacle of what PC gaming should be about. The game is way to hardcore to be popular with the COD masses (a good thing), it has a great community, endless mods.

Sure it has its bugs and people complain about its system performance, but thats because it's such a ridiculously complicated game which simulates 100s of things no regular FPS has.

+1
And with the high level of support from the developers, who listen to their customers, the list of mods and new content keeps growing.

I'd say SupCom 2. It's not that I think it's the best game ever or anything, but I don't think it deserves the bad reputation it has. I've played it for many hours and enjoyed it a lot, despite the fact I'm a huge fan of SupCom 1 and FA. I get annoyed because I'm sure the people slagging it off are fans of the first game who installed it, saw it wasn't simply a remake of the first game with better graphics, and threw a hissy fit.
