Where's Firaxis?

Dude, we are talking about publisher's here, not developers. As mentioned above for Rockstar, their publisher is Take-Two Interactive.

Judging by the poll and messages here, not many seem to know what's what.

Oh I get you, though Take-Two only publish GTA in like Brazil/Australia I'm pretty sure, Rockstar self publish in the major markets, as such they are a publisher in their own right. A few Bethesda games have been published by 2K, would that remove Bethesda from the list? ;)

It's a hard topic to create really as a lot of developers have self published and also used publishers and a lot of publishers have developed games published by other publishers. Quite the mouthful.

My vote had to go to CD Projekt Red, just for their business model. a lot of DLC released by Bethesda would have been free in a CDPR game, and Bethesda tend to release games in very poor states knowing modders will fix the game and make it great.

Now modding is big and accessible on the consoles I expect their future releases to be even buggier than before and possibly contain even less content, which would be an impressive feat :D

Sadly Fallout 4 is a step in that direction, fewest amount of features and content of any of their titles yet although I don't think the game had too many bugs afaik.

Seeing as how Crytek or CCP aren't listed, I'd go with Microsoft but only because of extremely inordinate amount of hours I invested in playing CFS, CFS2, CFS3 online (54th Screamin' Devils).

I think you may be getting confused between Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.

Agreed. It can be confusing.

But as pointed out earlier, people do not seem to be looking back at the last 10 years when voting, they just look back at the last released games and vote Fallout 4 vs Witcher 3. To be fair CD Projekt's good customer service is also coming into it. That does seem to correlate with the fact that people are not reading the OP and just voting after reading the title :p

Pretty sure they are a game developer too. Do they not use EA to publish their games? I know Crysis was published by EA. Don't know about their other ventures though.

It is a bit like me asking why is Eidos Montreal not on the list :P

It's not a matter of who publishes the game but the quality of the game and support provided to patch and service fans, if these traits don't exist in all publishers then they wouldn't be around for long.

Take EA for example; a well earned awful reputation however they still have a large collection of quality games.

Which publisher offers your favourite games?

question has been changed, remove my vote and close the thread for being misleading.

Indeed. Hence why my question was "which publisher offers your favourite games?" but as not many read the OP and I cannot change the title, we end up with results that are not accurate to the question :(

I changed it as people could not answer my original question. Also it is annoying that the title cannot be edited for a short period after it being created.

Maybe a mod can update the title and reset the poll? Either that or close it altogether :p

For me it cannot be CD Projekt, they have not stood the test of time for me. If they are still like the way they are in 5+ years time, they may take number one spot.

Surprised by results overall. But it does go to show that other publishers need to look at CD Projekt and take a page out of their book.

For me it can be CDProjecktRed, Why? Because regardless of their smaller amount of games and time in the industry...they did their utmost to give the consumer a great product. Compared to the rest they are gods. Whether time will make them better or worse we really dont know. Lets just hope they have started the way they mean to go on.

CyberPunk2077 looks awesome :D

Rockstars wiki entry clearly states they are multinational video game developers and publishers, so I think they should be on the list. They are owned by take two, but are still publishers in their own right.

Actually, guess what? CD Projekt have been publishing games in Poland since 1994 or so. They are the ones who brought games like Baldur's Gate to central european markets. They were the first ones who bothered to create great translations, add bonuses into boxes and released at competitive prices. And then they created GOG. So it is not just about game development (which they have been doing since 2002, although their first selfdeveloped game was released in 2007...almost a decade ago), but actual publishing too.
The company is still ran by two gamers who co-founded it right out of high school, and it shows.

I think i am the only one who voted sega purely based on the fact that they bought over THQ who aren't on the list but made some of the best RTS games and engine.

I wanted to vote for CCP, but they aren't included so I went for the next best thing, CDPR.

Looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077.
