So in light of MS's policy changes, and at the request of users, we have a new poll to see how many people, if any, will now change to getting an Xbox One over a PS4, or get both, or indeed swap from Xbox One to PS4.
Original thread can be found here in the archives - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18519302
i've gone from PS4 to undecided, being that i'm a race game fan and most of my time is playing FM4. at first i was like oooh they're backtracking on the ******** policies but after reading no night racing in FM5 i'm a bit annoyed at that, considering it's in forza horizon. i think not buying any of them prolly atleast for a year which is what i did this gen mostly.
Im sure the mods can get your vote changed if you ask nicelyI was too quick to revote in xbox ones favour. After some time to research further and I've decided to preorder a ps4! Price and kill zone has done it for me.
Looking forward to a change but gonna miss forza.
Im sure those headset manufacturers will release adaptors accordingly, just need some time to get those out.
Its more newsworthy that the XO doesnt come with a free headset (do people think Kinect is an adequate replacement? I personally dont as I really dont want randoms talking via my speakers and by talking I mean swearing) especially as that was one of the cornerstones that made voice comms so popular on the X360...

No thats not how they are doing it, they are licensing headset manufacturing just like any other third party peripheral so its up to those licensees what they do. IIRC Turtle Beach were the first to get a license and already have announced XO headsets so perhaps its best for your mate to contact them regards support. The feeling is that adaptors will be made available but Ive not bothered to investigate if thats the case nor the cost...I'm not convinced you will see an adaptor on the market anytime soon. MS will control the headset market of which they will probably make more from the headsets rather than selling a cheap adaptor. I wouldn't be suprised if they do something similar with hard drives.
Interestingly, Turtle Beach mentions both of its Xbox One headsets will use an "adapter" to connect to the Xbox One controller. After it was revealed that older headsets would not be able to connect to the Xbox One controller, many were left with questions as to whether third-party manufacturers like Astro Gaming would sell adapters. Clearly, the concept is possible, but it's also obvious Microsoft is controlling the licensing.
I have to say I'm very suprised that people don't seem to bothered by the fact that you can't use your current headsets with the Xbox one. A friend at work was adamant that he would get an Xbox one until he found out he can't use his £200 turtle beach headset with the new console.
I can only assume that most on here don't use headsets or are still using the bundled headsets from the 360?

EDIT: That seems to infer that an adaptor exists, whether it will be sold seperately is up to TB and MS licensing I guess...
Ive happily assumed that my USB Logitech headset will work with the PS4 aswell as obviously the official BT one. Wonder if Ive assumed wrong though...

Xbox, unless Turn10 really mess up Forza 5.
I have them both pre-ordered at the moment though.
