Which phisique?

I'm gonna throw a spanner in the works and get flamed by the MA people.

I think a 1988 Tyson could steam through Fedor like a freight train. He was both faster, and stronger. I'm talking about a straight no weapons fight here.

I think there is more to a fight than pure technique. Sometimes if somebody steams into you technique can go out of the window.

Sorry to go OT anyway...

Did you see Fedor get slammed on his head by Randleman? After seeing that I fully believe not even a tank could stop Fedor.

Its in this highlight clip..It terrifies me that someone can just take that and act as though nothing happened.

http://www.youtube.com/w/Fedor-HL?v=dI6BZ0FMV7w&search=fedor

Try and find a full vid of that though...scary stuff.

Sweet baby jesus and the orphans

Apart from the impact on the head, a land like that could seriously knock the wind out of you.

In that case I think if Fedor took an 88' Tyson to the ground it'd be game over. Because from reading his biography and seeing clips he can do groundfighting. But I still think if a Tyson from that era was smacking him he wouldn't just take it like nothing happened.

I mean lets be honest there is a diference between organised fights and a street fight, all it needs is a lucky punch, the other bloke might be very technical etc but if tyson caught him, good night i dont care how hard he is he is going to be out cold.

That goes both ways doesnt it?

No matter how good tyson is, hes bloody rubbish at any kind of ground fighting, or defending against kicks or whatever...even the simplest of submission moves would take him out of any fight...

There are fighters who could take a punch from Tyson and carry on fighting fine, such as Ray Sefo, David Tua or Mark Hunt (all, coincidentally, are pacific islander's).

If Brad Pitt's arms are only 14" in Fight Club then I'm very happy (mine are the same atm) :D

GordyR do you mind me contacting you regarding some advice about a new regime for cutting up/attaining a likeness to Tyler's body ?

Thats not a bad fight tbh, the kicks are pretty pointless imo, the knees and punches do the most of the work.

Neither of those guys are great kickers, not bad, but they're mainly know for durability and punching power. Some of the other k-1 guys can kick way harder than any punch.
Notably Peter Aerts and Mirko Crocop.

Mirko hasn't done K-1 since 2001. Of the current crop i'd rate Glaube Feitosa and Semmy Schilt as a couple of the best kickers. Semmy is just a stunning fighter in K1, not far off the size of Hong-Man Choi but so much quicker and far more skilled.

Yes, but he still kicks people in the head, hard. Plus he still fights much like a k-1 fighter, he just has a good sprawl and TD defence. I've followed k-1 and mma religiously since 1998.

Yeh it does should have said that really :o thats what i mean the other bloke would murder tyson in every aspect of fighting but tyson could just catch him sweet and thats that. Same the other way round one sweet hit and tyson is out.

I meant bare knucke i honestly cant see people carrying on after tyson has caught them with a good punch in the chops look at the damage he canb inflict with gloves on

If he hit someone without gloves he wouldnt have a fist any longer. I dont think there is a single K-1 fighter who could take a proper dig from a genuine heavyweight puncher. if they could they'd be boxing and earning way more.

Doubt it, they fight by mma rules, not queensbury, its very hard to adapt. Tyson would beat most MMA fighters by Queensbury, and get his butt kicked in a fight using MMA rules imo.

MMA rules in K1? Maybe so, my point is still valid none of them would be standing after a prime tyson flurry.

Oh, i think tyson would beat ALL mma fighters by Queensbury

I dont agree with your first point, MMA rules allow things like kicking and grappling, Tyson would either never get close enough, or would be too close.

Doubt it, some MMA fighters have taken hits bigger than those that Tyson could deliver, even in his prime.
