Series 1 dragged along with too many mysteries, series 2 got great.

We enjoyed Bates Motel, nice and dark and twisted, long enough to develop the story, but doesn't outstay it's welcome and actually has a relatively sensible and coherent ending.

Also Freddie Highmore is fantastic in it, and watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afterwards is just mind = blown

I've just started season 5 and having watched the rest of it over the last month, it's just absolutely fantastic.

THIS, also Sons of Anarchy, its a bit twee in places and some accents are naff but overall its a very good show

Second that Ray Donovan recommendation. Really didn't fancy it for some reason, so tended to overlook it. Caught the first few episodes yesterday and loving it so far.

Surprised there isn't more talk about this show on here - first 3 episodes anyhow are excellent - a bit slow brewing but well enough done and with good enough scenery and sets, etc. to be immersive without being boring.
