Which superhero film for a 6 year old?

Has a sweary though. :p

One instance of the most appropriate example of swearing in a film :)

I'd go with the originl superman films, the marvel cinemantic universe films and the like, however all kids are different so judge it by the child not the label.

My uncle let's his children watch some superhero films, they're 7 and 9. Although they did watch them a when they were younger.

I'd say iron man 1 is OK, as is the avengers. Thor might be scary for them when you've got the aliens up

Not x men or wolverine thought

Wouldn't let young kids watch Iron Man 1 because of the beginning.

Incredibles

Megamind

Would love to watch Superman with kids, but a 6 they will probably find it a bit boring (action few and far between)

Superman Returns

Avengers

Sky High

New Lego movie!!

Blade / Robocop for giggles.

There's quite a few things I can think of in Iron Man 1 that you might not want a young kid to see:

1. Tony Stark getting blown up by his own bomb, and pulling his shirt open to have blood start gushing through his body armour.

2. Waking up and finding with horror that he has a wire going into his chest.

3. Yinsen being held down and nearly having his eye put out with a burning coal.

4. Yinsen dying.

5. Raza returning after a near miss with a massively scarred face.

6. Screaming children and mothers being separated and pulled into the back of a truck while their father are lined up against a wall (presumably to be shot).

7. Stane paralysing Stark and cutting the arc reactor out of his chest.

8. Stane's armour powering up from the dark and chasing Pepper out of the building.

9. Stark escaping captivity by burning his captors alive with flamethrowers.

10. Stark casually bedding Christine and Pepper calling her trash the next morning.

Some of these might not a be a big deal to you or your kid, others might be too much, and that why these movies are not aimed at six year olds.

A number of your points I don't feel would apply to kids as it's more implied and they don't understand the implications.
But as you said, it affects some kids differently from others.

My uncles kids can watch these films and enjoy them, although my uncle doesn't let them watch the Dark Knight as I think the Joker could scare children.

Spider-Man 1 & 2
Superman
Superman Returns
Batman Forever
Captain America

Superman 2 is pretty safe, but it has quite a lot of romance in it which he might find boring - I know I did at that age.

I would say all the old Superman films are safe, apart from Evil robot woman at the end of 3, which freaked me out!

The Rocketeer!... Everyone forgets about the Rocketeer :(

If they're boys then Jennifer Connelly's chest would be a good introduction to the female form :p

X Men animated series (apart from season 4).

The Phantom?
The Shadow?

I'm not sure what you're comfortable with them watching though.
