Which Wax?

Was getting a bit dull but here's some pics of the MGF taken yesterday. As you can see it's completely pointless waxing white cars :D

Harly Wax Or Colinite 476S

As per title im in two minds about which of these to choose, whats the general concensous.

hope ya didnt use that t cut you got as itll only give you more minor swirls :)

I had go at using it over a small hairline scratch but didnt notice much difference, seems pretty crap to me, just used resin polish and a good polish seems to work better.

After some AutoGlym polish and Gold class wax :

Problem is it looks good from some angles and in photos but the swirls catch the light sometimes.

Nice shine on the paint like!

Just ordered;

Eurow 100% Sheepskin Wash/Polish Mitt
Meguiars Quik Clay Detailing System

Just can't decide which wax, how long should i expect the Harly Wax to last and is this the better choice since its no longer Winter and i won't need such protective wax as the Collinite.

If you've got scratches or dulling to shift, Farecla G3 and G10 are your friends.

Went for the Collinite purely for the fact a tin would last me a whole year possibly longer. Good enough for me look forward to the next wash.

megs waxes are pish, especially the "gold class" crap.
S100 Carnauba Paste Wax
Or
Poorboys Nattys wax

Don't be silly and go for p21s paste wax, as it's exactly the same as s100 just more expensive because its marketed to cars and not bikes.

I just dont like Autoglym stuff really except their Show 'n' Shine. Its too commercial to be a real viable 'detailing' polish, wax, etc.

Nothing wrong with a good Turtle Wax wash, Clay, PC then polish and get the Zymol out. My local GM dealer was pushing Zymol out real cheap and I thought it was crap, then I used some and the difference between it and something like Collinite is quite noticeable on a dark car. Its important to remember though that what works for one wont necessarily work for another. There may be a better combo for me to use that gives better results or the same results with less effort although with the PC I can do the whole lot in 4 hours max. That and the fact I bought a depth guage meter from the bay makes me one sad person! :(

Friend of mine used Surfers wax (Caranuba based) and the result was pretty staggering. He left it on a radiator overnight for easy application.

Silver = boring and does not need washing or cleaning :D

 :p , Course silver should be washed + paintwork waxed for protection, I think Autoglym Resin Polish is superb and Fast Glass but thats just over rated window cleaner tbh.

There is glass cleaner and there is glass polish. Never use the former as it streaks and creates glare. Its also a large contributing factor to the build up of grime on the inside of the windscreen.

The glass polish, proper polish, not available from Halfrauds, is good good stuff. I currently have a small drop left from a detailing friend that he decanted into an Evian water bottle for me. I NEED MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The results of two days work :(

Still, the paint feels awesome and looks great when the sun catches it.

2 coats of Super Resin Polish, 1 Coat of Extra Gloss Protection and 2 coats of Collinite 476S. Claybar'd before I started as well.
