I think we have a very good chance. The only team out of the main favourites that has perfomed is Argentina, and they're certainly beatable.

Hardly. He's the best Right back ever produced in England. You don't play that long for Man Utd and be rubbish. 12 years and still first choice is a phenomenal accomplishment. We also saw what happened at WC 2002 without him.
He is definitely carrying an injury at the moment though, he was abysmal against Paraguay.

Im definetly not a gary neville fan, he isn't very good IMO, not bad but not great. But you are right, I cant think of any alternative. I would play carragher there (but I'd play carragher ahead of rio at CB so end up with neville there anyway. He was abysmal against para, he couldent even get the short passes right!

On a thread note, I think England undoubtably have the talent, but I reckon sven will screw it up!

You did see the last time Terry and Carragher played toghether didnt you?

Rio had to come on and sort out the complete balls up they were making of it and Sven hasnt played them toghether since.

As for winning the world cup not a chance, we will get humped by the first decent team we play.

I certainly don't think England will win the competition. But then I was even more certain they wouldn't win when watching the competition in 1966. So my predictions aren't worth much.
