What that someone who has been on the show countless times as a food critic is being used on the celebrity version? Or the fact that after bad press it is safer to go with a woman? Or just the fact that a middle aged man who was a grocer is being replaced with someone who has spend her life judging and writing about food? How very dare they!

I shouldn't have laughed at that, but I did.

I'm sure I saw her on TV just the other night doing a "let's work in a food shop to see what its like" light documentary. It may even have been a Greggs.
 
Well as Sir Rod Stewart called him balding and middle aged ( Sir Rod is neither bald nor middle aged).Grace Dent may be middle aged but not balding unlike Clare. Her appearance is neither here nor there and may even be an improvement on the previous incumbent.

She has no food qualifications at all, but somehow ended up as a restaurant critic. Same with the other one, Jay Rayner. Quite what gives them the authority to critique leading professional chefs is beyond me
