Who has driven a supercar? Were you impressed?

I read no more of your post. You are the King and I bow down to you.

Get me a ride!!!

It's been sold to a private collector. I can honestly say that thing scared the **** out of me. Amusingly noisy though - you could hear it from about 3 miles away :D

The only piccy I have of it at work:

Lol, I've always been a hotrodder and was out drinking one night with my mates. Heard a hatchback coming with the engine being ragged so was preparing to laugh and point. It gets louder, engine sounds a bit more raw, it gets louder, black Lister Jag comes round corner Weeeeheeeeeey! Jag on steroids, love it.

7.0 V12 pushing 550bhp with what basically amounted to a set of straight pipes as an exhaust system. What's not to love? ;)

You can't really say that though... Because zondas, enzos and anything else you care to mention get beaten by HPA Golf R32s...
Not around a track or when you get to a bend of any sort it it won't. The aerodynamics and suspension of the Enzo would enable it to destroy the Golf around a track or a twisty road.

Whatever 'supercar' you buy will always be beaten off the shelf by some crazy as modified jobbie.
Again, only as long as you only want to go in a straight line.

No offence, but it always amuses me when people say something like an Enzo gets 'beaten' by some comparatively mundane car with some ludicrous turbo modification. There is more to 'performance' than straight line speed. What do you think takes more skill, putting your foot down in some over boosted hot hatch and hitting 60 in 3.5 seconds or doing a sub 8 minute lap of the Nordschleife (Nurburgring) in something like an Enzo?

Some you folks may not class as "supercars", but here's the list for me:

Corvette ZR-1
Callaway Corvette Cabriolet
Dodge Viper V-10
GMC Cyclone & Typhoon
Porsche 911 Ruf
Shelby AC Cobra 429
Dodge Super Bee 440 Six-pak
Ferrari 308 GTSi Quattrovalvole
old skool Lamborghini Muira
old skool Pantera

Out of all of them the only one that REALLY impressed me? The Typhoon. Well, ok. The Cobra was mind numbingly exhilirating, but the Typhoon was just downright out-and-out !!

The Ferrari was fun for the image factor, the Super Bee for the building-rattling rumble, and the 911 for the handling. But nothing else I have ever driven has EVER slammed me into the headrests faster or harder than the Typhoon did. The numbers for it just don't really add up, as it came off the line and just seemed to ZIP down the strip considerably faster than anything else, including my heavily modified Gen 1 RX-7.... But alas, it was actually several seconds slower. Just didn't FEEL like it.

Especially when you did the drag race on wet grass!! :D
